From 175 and 20 in South East Dallas, go north on 175. The exit is St Augustine, it is one exit inside of 20. Go north (away from 175) to Elam. Turn left on Elam to Prairie Creek, turn left. You will see the park on your right, proceed until you see the end of the soccer fields. Turn in to the parking lot there.
I am going to give you my thoughs on the course as we played it at MaceMans food drive event #9 yesterday.
First off, this course was not approved until this last week. Steve Wallas worked his butt off this week to try to get HIS course in playable condition. While playing the course, I could not believe what he cleared out. He still has a lot of work to do.
#1 The tee is not where he plans on final placement on it. But in this position, it made a good hole. I thought the basket should not have been put back into the woods, it should have been in the clearing just before the wooods.
#1 very tight shot that is really just a luck hole. I did have putt on it both time and watched JP Baily it the pole on his drive. I would like to see this hole cleared out some more. The problem is that about 3/4 way down the fairway, there is a line of trees 4" thick that guard the fairway, make it past these and you have a putt.
#3 good hole the way it is now. Most of us were laying up 1/2 way down the fairways, except Justin Kerr, he birdied it one time and had a 50ft putt the other.
#4 needs to be cleared out some (specially the briers) Birdy shot if you hit the line. low ceiling.
#5 not a bad hole. In the first round all 5 of us had a birdie putt. (I missed mine like i did all day) This hole really does not need much done.
#6 This hole is crazy. Huge hyzer to get over the very all trees gets you 3/4 of the way there. If you don't land in the shule you have only a chance of a par. I really don't like this hole. It was my least favorate of the 18 we played.
#7 Nice short little birdie hole. Get off the fairway and you are in trouble. (the only hole i got my 2 birds on)
#8 Ug, no line to the basket yet. needs lots of clearing. Steve said he is going to clear out past where the basket was yesterday and make the hole much longer. This hole needs the most work out of every hole out there.
#9 As we played it Saturday, it was a dogleg right with a very tight fairway to start. This hole ate some lunches in the first round. (I managed a 3 and 4 with a missed putt) Steve said he was going to clear out a line all the way back to #8's basket making the hole about 150ft longer. That will be a monster.
#10 Nice little shot down a hill. 2 Branches on the tree on the right make this hole a tough one to birdie. Loose the lowere branch (which looked dead anyways) and this would be a good little hole.
#11 Filler hole. I hope this is not one that is going to be used. Most of us birdie it both times. (except me, I missed my putt both times)
#12 Wow, cool hole, tough and unforgiving. The shot is from the bottom of the hill, looking almost straight up to a basket a little too close to the edge of the cliff. (I say cliff because very few discs land on the side of that hill)
It is about 300ft hole and about a 100 ft elevation change. Clean up the lower part of the hill and remove the small tree guarding the basket and this one will work.
One thing I noticed on this hole, this area is very sandy. The erosion problem is going to get worse with a disc golf course. (as if the erosion problem was not already caused by all the motorbikes)
#13 nice little hole, only needs some briars cleaned out.
#14 Another nice little unforgiving little hole. I think another pin placement on the other side of the hill the basket was sitting on would have been better. As it was, I say more than one missed putt roll down the hill.
#15 crazy hole that either needs a lot more clearing or moved somewhere. This was a very hard right dog leg with a 200ft tight shot and then a 150ft up shot. Hit those two and you got your par. No chance of a bird the way it was played today.
#16 I liked this hole. (maybe it was because I parked it both rounds even though I missed a 15ft putt the firs time through) Not much needs to be done here.
#17 Another nice longer hole down the hill. Some clearing of high branches and this hole would be great. In the first round I was the only one who did not have a birdie putt.
#18 Arguebly the best hole on the course. A shot off the pond dam across the pond to a small hole up a hill to the basket. Steve did a lot of clearing on this hole just to make the hole to the basket. Even if you hit the gap, the very large trees may knock you back. I did not play this hole very well. The right hand side of the fairway is not where you want to be. Very steep hill with lots of briars and poison Ivy.

Steve has plans for 36 holes out here. We played basicly 9 from each course yesterday. even these are not set in stone yet. When talking to steve yesterday, he said he plans on making several pin placements on each hole. He has the room for sure.
The way he got this course aproved is by saying that he will do all the work and it will not cost the city anything. He only has a year contract with the city so this course could be pulled very easily someday if it does not work out.
In the mean time, if steves vision pans out, we could have one of the best courses in Texas in the Dallas area for a change.

Just to add to that. Someone let me know when the workdays are, I have chainsaws and will be glad to help. Just mark what needs to be cut.
#1 The tee is not where he plans on final placement on it. But in this position, it made a good hole. I thought the basket should not have been put back into the woods, it should have been in the clearing just before the wooods.
The basket on the slope does add to the putting pressure, but a few of the guarding trees very close to the basket could be cleared. Good challenge, but could be longer.
#2 very tight shot that is really just a luck hole. I did have putt on it both time and watched JP Baily it the pole on his drive. I would like to see this hole cleared out some more. The problem is that about 3/4 way down the fairway, there is a line of trees 4" thick that guard the fairway, make it past these and you have a putt.
Only one or two should go, and I'm not sure which ones.
#3 good hole the way it is now. Most of us were laying up 1/2 way down the fairways, except Justin Kerr, he birdied it one time and had a 50ft putt the other.
Very challenging hole, you don't want to be left of the fairway.
#4 needs to be cleared out some (specially the briers) Birdy shot if you hit the line. low ceiling.
A tight slight anhyzer for birdie, several options for par. Good hole.
#5 not a bad hole. In the first round all 5 of us had a birdie putt. (I missed mine like i did all day) This hole really does not need much done.
Good hole, not so good of the tree guarding the overhead shot goes away. The basket could go back a hundred feet or so in a second tunnel to take away the benefit of the overheads if the limb at the teebox disappears.
#6 This hole is crazy. Huge hyzer to get over the very tall trees gets you 3/4 of the way there. If you don't land in the shule you have only a chance of a par. I really don't like this hole. It was my least favorate of the 18 we played.
This hole will clear itself naturally, and should become a popular hole once the lines are cleared a little bit.
#7 Nice short little birdie hole. Get off the fairway and you are in trouble. (the only hole i got my 2 birds on)
Tough now, will probably get cleared enough to not be very tough after a few months of regular play.
#8 Ug, no line to the basket yet. needs lots of clearing. Steve said he is going to clear out past where the basket was yesterday and make the hole much longer. This hole needs the most work out of every hole out there.
A little clearing around the basket, and this one is good. I heard that it is supposed to go back a hundred feet or so. Will be good either way.
It was a layup, layup ,putt hole as it was this weekend. No real line to the basket. The lines to the layup spots was tough enough though.
#10 Nice little shot down a hill. 2 Branches on the tree on the right make this hole a tough one to birdie. Loose the lowere branch (which looked dead anyways) and this would be a good little hole.
Good hole with a challenging small window for birdie.
#11 Filler hole. I hope this is not one that is going to be used. Most of us birdie it both times. (except me, I missed my putt both times)
I was wondering what this was doing on this course. It really looks like a hole that was put in just to get the course playable for this weekend.
#12 Wow, cool hole, tough and unforgiving. The shot is from the bottom of the hill, looking almost straight up to a basket a little too close to the edge of the cliff. (I say cliff because very few discs land on the side of that hill)
Great hole. I was wondering if it could be combined with 11 for a little more challenge in getting to a good spot to go up the hill ?
It is about 300ft hole and about a 100 ft elevation change. Clean up the lower part of the hill and remove the small tree guarding the basket and this one will work.
One thing I noticed on this hole, this area is very sandy. The erosion problem is going to get worse with a disc golf course. (as if the erosion problem was not already caused by all the motorbikes)
#13 nice little hole, only needs some briars cleaned out.
The basket could go back another 30' so it drops off on all sides, other than that, good hole.
#14 Another nice little unforgiving little hole. I think another pin placement on the other side of the hill the basket was sitting on would have been better. As it was, I say more than one missed putt roll down the hill.
I try to find a way to put a ledge in 20' down from the basket to stop some of the rollaways from reaching the bottom of the hill. It wouldn't be that hard nor that easy to do.
#15 crazy hole that either needs a lot more clearing or moved somewhere. This was a very hard right dog leg with a 200ft tight shot and then a 150ft up shot. Hit those two and you got your par. No chance of a bird the way it was played today.
I took the high thumber route through a three foot hole, and had a putt for birdie inside of 40'. Clean up the tunnel, give it a little height and back the tee box up and left.
#16 I liked this hole. (maybe it was because I parked it both rounds even though I missed a 15ft putt the first time through) Not much needs to be done here.
Good hole, hit the line or else.
#17 Another nice longer hole down the hill. Some clearing of high branches and this hole would be great. In the first round I was the only one who did not have a birdie putt.
Needs a line to the basket, good hole, good options for alt pin locations.
Where it was Saturday is a dangerous spot. The safest shot for the big arms is over the trees, and there is a picnic table 50' from the basket. The table needs to be moved if that hole stays in permanently.

Here is some info on this course and it's installation. First and foremost this course is approved for installation. The holes used for the Food Drive Event were not all the holes that will be part of the permanent course. There is so much that can be done out there, but it is going to take lots of help and work. The potential of that land and that park is immeasurable.
The thing that is really disappointing about this is that the Dallas Disc Golf Club has pulled away and is fighting to keep the Elgin B Robertson baskets in storage in the hopes of winning over the neighborhood assn and getting the course installed out there. They don't want it there (White Rock neighbors) and they have more influence and far more money than we do. So basically the trend that has been in motion in Dallas as far as DG is continuing to go south ( and I don't mean south to Crawford).
If you want to tread water then keep going to play at PP Owens. If you want to get on with the Disc Golf Progress than you need to broaden your horizons and help get Crawford completed. Steve is looking for help and has plenty of time to make it happen, but he can't do all the work himself. He can be contacted at 972-681-5145.

The EBR baskets were/are ear marked for Flag Pole Hill. I am sure that I don't have ALL of the information, however, Steve specifically asked DDG to stay out, no help wanted. (except the baskets? huh)
I certainly support his and everyone's efforts to get this park put in, but let's not get into a B.B Owen/DDG bash for no good reason.
Sorry, I missed the event but I blew my knee out at Athens.
If things fall through for Flag Pole, DDG is open to supplying the EBR baskets for Crawford. (through the City)

Wow, a rare post from the Great Danny Waldron (one of the founding members of DDG BTW)
I have not had the time to bother Dirk to find out what is going on. Knowing Steve, he is doing his own thing. He has been working his butt off getting this done and I hope DDG can help him.
I do understand Steve's thoughs on the course. It is ready to go in, all he needs is the baskets.

Yeah, work has pretty much left me with Wednesday night mini's for my disc golfing and Dirk is working at Presbyterian Hospital nightmare hours.
I'll touch base with him this week and get the low down on Flag Pole.
Crawford was one of the original parks we looked at when BB went in. However, the dirt bike trails were in at the time and heavily used.
Do you know what other avenue the basket procurement is going to take if the EBR ones get used at Flag Pole?

May 23 2005, 08:15 PM
If the land is available, and the trail bikers are not in contention with the course layout, a few benefit tournaments could help out.
- or -
The first park to go in could hold events to raise funds for the baskets for the other. Put $2-$5 from the entry directly into the fund and add any profit as well. A few big events, should go a long way.
If we can go into the parks the City wants us to go into and show them that DG is a good investment, and that the increased traffic is good for the park, we might have a little more leverage in getting into the parks that we want to get into.

I have to admit that I am hearing things from only one side. What I am hearing is totally not what should be being said. I have been told that one course is approved all the way down the line and that the other is approved by the city but not by the neighborhood assn and they are not favorable toward it. One course is in a place were disc golf and disc golfers will shine, taking a park that is in terrible shape and making it a jewel in a rough part of town. Flag Pole is certainly in a more desirable part of town but is there a real chance or just a real hope? I went out to participate in a work day over a year ago at Flag Pole and 12 -14 months later those baskets are still in storage.
I was told that Troy wanted the baskets to go into Crawford and Dirk said first that this course was approved so use the baskets that way and then he said that there is no way they would be used for Crawford. I really don't care about a blow by blow battle report. I do think that this is a reaction that is leading to more dissention instead of more progress. If Flag Pole is really going to happen then buy more baskets when it is finally approved. Dust off the baskets and put them in the ground in the meantime.

There are many untold stories here. No point in re-telling them.
As I said, I will talk to Dirk this week and get the complete low down on Flag Pole and Crawford from the City. I will try and get things moving.

Let me know which way things are moving. I'll be there to help out however it goes. There is a lot of potential out in Crawford for a course that uses shots and course management in ways most TX golfers don't see very often.

I did talk to Dirk last night (for at least 45 min)
He has total support for the Crawford park being put in. But the 16 baskets that were pulled from EBR are suppose to be installed at either Flag Pole hill, The bottoms, or Stone Tables. (I hope I am not spilling the beans when I say that the idea is to move the baskets around like every 4 months)
Dirk said that flag pole hill has been approved by the City Parks department. (so has Samual Crawford) BUT the White Rock Lake Valley (i think that was the name) Homeowners association has not OK'd it yet. They have NOT voted it down yet, the old leader was not disc golf friendly, but he never voted it down and the new lady in charge actually is favorable and hopes it gets rid of the undisirables that hang out at Flag Pole Hill. As Dirk said, he has never been given a "NO" on anything at Flag Pole Hill. It just takes time to get these things worked out with everyone.
Dirk hoped to have some news by the next news letter he is putting together right now.
As far as Samuel Crawford park, it was Dirk's understanding from the head of that park, that the course has been approved by the City but NOT by the Homeowners association. I talked with Gary Duke and he is going to try to contact the lady in charge of the park and see exactly what need to be done for final approval to install the course.
The baskets from EBR have NOT been ruled out for use at Samuel Crawford just yet.
But on that same note, Steve has stated in the last few weeks that he wanted to install new baskets in his course.
Either way, Gary is working on getting work days set up with Steve's help and I am sure he will post work days here when it is time.
(one last note, there have been work days at Flag Pole hill also, they were to help get the course ready for baskets and to clean up the park. This was done to show the homeowners association that if the courses goes in, the park will improve)

Stolen - shouldn't happen if we put them in like they were at Elgin...rebar works wonders!

Actually, the reason there is only 16 baskets was that 2 more had been stolen, there were others that someone had been trying to steal, but had not finished yet. (this is according to Dirk)

I'm not driving this bus, I'm just helping when I'm positive we have the go ahead. Jumping into a park with a chainsaw on the good word of a few people is like driving 80 in a 55 because someone said there are never any cops on this road.
If I get the good word from the people involved, I will be trying to organize some workdays and fundraising events. Whether there are 2 parks ready to go in at the same time or not, it will be a good idea to have funds ready to purchase more baskets if the opportunity to put in another course arises.

Steve specifically asked DDG to stay out
I have been told different versions of this story. Steve told me that he asked Dirk and DDG to be involved and Dirk turned him down flat.
I really don't care about the he said she said, lets all put this aside and get this course in the ground. If DDG doesn't want to help move this forward then there is a problem (with DDG). It is a new course, there is no reason to not be excited about getting it in, unless you are not in favor of progress.

I had an interesting phone call today left on my answering machine. I am going to reply to that message here because it was based on this post.
i will further comment in RED to make it easier for you.
From 175 and 20 in South East Dallas, go north on 175. The exit is St Augustine, it is one exit inside of 20. Go north (away from 175) to Elam. Turn left on Elam to Prairie Creek, turn left. Turn in to the parking lot there. i started off by giving good direction to where the park it.
I am going to give you my thoughs on the course as we played it at MaceMans food drive event #9 yesterday. I said I was giving my review of the course AS WE PLAYED IT that day
First off, this course was not approved until this last week. Which is what you said Steve Wallas worked his butt off this week to try to get HIS course in playable condition. Sorry I spelled your name wrong I think, but this is a total complament While playing the course, I could not believe what he cleared out. I can not believe how much work you have already put into this courses, as how much you had to clear just to get the course in playable condition. That is a complament in my book. He still has a lot of work to do. That is not negative, just stating a fact.
#1 The tee is not where he plans on final placement on it. But in this position, it made a good hole. I thought the basket should not have been put back into the woods, it should have been in the clearing just before the wooods. Um, I said it made a good hole, but I would not have put the basket back into the woods except for a champion pin placement. I even stated that we did not play it per your course design
I did not really say anything negitive about this hole other than I would like to see a wider fairway without cuttinig any trees.
#3 good hole the way it is now. Most of us were laying up 1/2 way down the fairways, except Justin Kerr, he birdied it one time and had a 50ft putt the other. Hum, "good hole the way it is now" Complament in my book.
#4 needs to be cleared out some (specially the briers) Birdy shot if you hit the line. low ceiling. i got tore up on this hole from some briars in the fairway that had not been removed yet, I still think it is a good hole. That is not negitive.
#5 not a bad hole. In the first round all 5 of us had a birdie putt. (I missed mine like i did all day) This hole really does not need much done. Again, I said it was a good hole as the way we played it that day
#6 This hole is crazy. Huge hyzer to get over the very all trees gets you 3/4 of the way there. If you don't land in the shule you have only a chance of a par. I really don't like this hole. It was my least favorate of the 18 we played. This is one of the two holes I did not like, that is my opinion, if you can't handle criticism, then maybe you should not have anyone ever play your course.
#7 Nice short little birdie hole. Get off the fairway and you are in trouble. (the only hole i got my 2 birds on) Again, I said NICE
#8 Ug, no line to the basket yet. needs lots of clearing. Steve said he is going to clear out past where the basket was yesterday and make the hole much longer. This hole needs the most work out of every hole out there. There was no line to the basket, if you were off the faiway (there really was only a path) you were in deep poison Ivy. I understand you did not have time to clear this hole out. I stated that, I also stated that you planned on this hole being longer.
I can't see anything negitive about this hole, in fact it is a signature hole in my book, specially when you finish the hole.
#10 Nice little shot down a hill. 2 Branches on the tree on the right make this hole a tough one to birdie. Loose the lowere branch (which looked dead anyways) and this would be a good little hole. NICE, and "Good little hole" Nothing negitive here either
#11 Filler hole. I hope this is not one that is going to be used. Most of us birdie it both times. (except me, I missed my putt both times) I assumed, as we all did, that this hole was made up as a filler for the tournament
#12 Wow, cool hole, tough and unforgiving. The shot is from the bottom of the hill, looking almost straight up to a basket a little too close to the edge of the cliff. (I say cliff because very few discs land on the side of that hill) "Wow, cool hole, tough and unforgiving" how is that negitive in any way huh?
It is about 300ft hole and about a 100 ft elevation change. Clean up the lower part of the hill and remove the small tree guarding the basket and this one will work. again, I just stated what I would like to see done to clear this hole out some.
One thing I noticed on this hole, this area is very sandy. The erosion problem is going to get worse with a disc golf course. (as if the erosion problem was not already caused by all the motorbikes)
#13 nice little hole, only needs some briars cleaned out. Again, I stated earlier that the course was very rough cause you only had a week to get it ready, I don't see anything wrong with that.
#14 Another nice little unforgiving little hole. I think another pin placement on the other side of the hill the basket was sitting on would have been better. As it was, I say more than one missed putt roll down the hill. Constructive Criticism again. I didn't say, but I did like this hole, as one pin position, I would like to see one on the other side of the hill.
#15 crazy hole that either needs a lot more clearing or moved somewhere. This was a very hard right dog leg with a 200ft tight shot and then a 150ft up shot. Hit those two and you got your par. No chance of a bird the way it was played today. i don't think anyone liked this hole that I talked to, but if you noticed, the last thing I said was "the way yit was played today" meaning that I figured that it was either a filler hole, or would be improved.
#16 I liked this hole. (maybe it was because I parked it both rounds even though I missed a 15ft putt the firs time through) Not much needs to be done here. "I like this hole" enough said
#17 Another nice longer hole down the hill. Some clearing of high branches and this hole would be great. In the first round I was the only one who did not have a birdie putt. "Another Nice longer hole" and "This hole would be great" (with a few branches cleared out)
#18 Arguebly the best hole on the course. "Arguebly the best hole on the course" how is thahat negitive?

Steve has plans for 36 holes out here. That is what you told me We played basicly 9 from each course yesterday. Something else you told me before we even played any holes. even these are not set in stone yet. Again, I stated that these holes were not set in stone yet When talking to steve yesterday, he said he plans on making several pin placements on each hole. Again I stated something you told me, that I viewed as a positive statement. He has the room for sure.
The way he got this course aproved is by saying that he will do all the work and it will not cost the city anything. He only has a year contract with the city so this course could be pulled very easily someday if it does not work out. That is what you told me
In the mean time, if steves vision pans out, we could have one of the best courses in Texas in the Dallas area for a change. wrapped up with a very positve statement!!!!
I have no idea why you did not read all the positive things I stated here. There was basicly 2 holes that I did not like, 1 hole that I never thought would be there once the b askets were installed, and 1 other hole that I stated was really not ready to play.
There are several of us that want to help you put this into the ground STEVE. If you let us that is. Even when I talk to people about this couse, I give you all the credit and say that YOU should totally design this course. I really think you can do it. I would like to see you do something positive for disc golf. Calling my home and leaving that message today on my answering machine was not the way to get my help in getting this course ready. (my wife was the one who called and told me about it and what you said, and yes, I have two kids and they both hear your {i'm a potty mouth} statements.
As of right now, I still want to help get this course in the ground. Even to the point of sponsoring a hole if you need it. (yes, I am willing to back that up with $$$$$) If you don't want me to help, that is fine, I need to do some work on my little Hyzer Hyzer Hyzer course that you would never play.
As far as the posts I have made in the past two days, it was because there had been some concerns and rumors that I had heard that I wanted to clear them up. I called Dirk, who works with the City on DDG behalf and cleared up some things that I had been hearing.
Without getting into the he said she said thing, Dirk stated that Diane (I think that was her name) said the course was approved and that only the homeowners association needed to approve the course before it could go in. I also asked about the use of the old EBR baskets because I was under the impression that they were going to be put in at Flag Pole Hill, not Samuell Crawford. I only posted what I learned from him. DIRK WAS TOTALLY FOR THIS NEW CORUSE AND SAID THAT DDG WOULD HELP OUT ANY WAY THAT THEY COULD. That is what he said, he said you are already working with a few members, including Rick Z (I think that was his name)
Before I drive 30 miles and work in the sun all day, I (and others) want to verify that everything is cool and that you have cart blanc to do what you want. None of us want to get in trouble with the city, or give disc golf a black eye. That is the ONLY reason we have contacted the city, only to verify that the coruse is ready to go in. I am sorry if you view that as a negitive.
As it is, we are ready to start clearing out hole where YOU tell us. I want to clear out the briars myself to get revenge :D

Well, that was rather long.
I have gotten lots of positive responses from the few players I have contacted about working on getting the course cut in. We are ready to get started, but will need a pretty good idea of what Steve wants opened up. It can go pretty quick with enough volunteers.

STEVE -
since you are apparently reading this and even Brian K. was over there yesterday as you talked about your phone response...
I myself, and I think I can speak for many others, could care less who gets the "award" for getting this in the ground...if you don't accept some help from those that are willing...this could become Flag Pole #2...your course..enjoy...accept some help so we can have buckets in the ground...and if the DDG doesn't want to help...were are the 18 going to come from..
WE ALL HAVE TO WORK AS 1

looks like i'll be there.
Hey this is Steve, I'm surely not expecting "awards" as you say, I'm just tooling in a really nice course. If you want to be apart of it, you may. I have not turned anyone down from this project. I'm the one who was turned down from the DDGA from the very beginning, that's why this course is registered under a new club. I talked to Diane yesterday & she has 18 benches for this project. She also stated all brush piles will be picked up Wednesday. I will be out there early Sunday morning. Please come and participate in making this a great place to play golf.
Steve Wallace
I just want to add one more thing, Donald Ellsworth donated the first basket to Samuel Crawford Park on Friday, 5-27-05.
It is really coming together, it's not another Flag Pole Hill.
That is a promise.

Let's see some participation on the first big work day, Wedensday June 1, From 5:30 on there will be crews clearing holes. If we get a good showing, we should be able to get a lot of holes ready to play as soon as baskets can get in the ground. There is a lot of small stuff that needs to be trimmed up, but very little major cutting required.
The holes should go very quickly.
If we can get a few people back out on Saturday/Sunday (I'll be back out on Sunday), the first 9 could be ready for baskets by the end of the weekend.
This is going to be a course like none other in Dallas, come out and be a part of it.

For those that will be asking, there are 3-5 people driving this project. Steve Wallace is the Designer and person in charge of what gets cleared out. Evan, Frank, and Myself have been through the layout and know what Steve has in mind for the front 9.
Someone will be at the park most afternoons, so anytime you can make it there should be someone to show you what needs to be cleared. Just to be safe, post on here when you are going to be out there so that one of us will be sure to be there.
There will be people out there Saturday as well, I will be playing the JDGF event at the Vet on Saturday, but back in Crawford on Sunday.

I have heard that baksets are available for installation, and that DDG is not holding their Wednesday Night Mini at BB Owens so they can come over and help get this new course cut in.
Come one, come all. The more people there, the quicker we will get finished.
There is some Poison Ivy out there, so if you are sensitive to it let us know. There are areas that need work that will keep you out of it.

Great initial work day. Plenty of people, but more is always a good thing. We are trying to come up the date for the next work day, I'll be back out there with Steve and Frank tomorrow marking what needs to be cleared. The front 9 should be ready for baskets soon, and it will be awesome. We've still got some work ahead finding the red tees, but the white and blue tees are already positioned.
Holes 1,2, & 9 short are cut in.
Holes 3,4, & 6 just need a little more trimming in the fairway.
A big thanks to everyone that made it out today. It was a very productive day.
Hole 7 got the pin area cleared out, and needs some old piles around a couple of dead trees in the fairway cleared.
Hole 5 needs the pin area cleared.
Hole 8 needs a lot of work.
Hole 9 needs the long tee cut in.
A couple more days like today, and the front 9 will be done.
We should be marking the back 9 tomorrow as well. I'll have a better idea of how long that will take after I walk the new layout.
