OK, with so many different rocs availiable, which one stands up the best in terms of flight and durability. CFR roc, CE roc, DX roc, KC PRO roc, KC Classic roc...there are probably a ton in forgetting..not to mention the old ontario & san marino rocs...what do you think?!?!?

Plain ole max-weight DX Roc is the best. Very long and useful lifespan, and you can buy them cheap.

Starts out overstable, slowly beats to straight, and then slowly beats to the bestest slow-flying long-floating turn-over disc in the world.

180 gram Flat Top CHING ROCs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These things are the BOMB!!!!!!!!!! Overstable when new so you put one in the bag and throw it untill it flips. Then you put another brand new one in the bag and throw both of them for their respective shots then when that one flips you have a super flippy one a flippy one and a NEW overstable one. Then once the bottow one gets to beat you just give it to a newbie and keep rotating in a new one untill you DIE!!!!!!!!

If i had to throw Innova the only Rocs i would throw would be the Flat Top Ching Rocs :D

I took my 2 DX Rocs out of the bag for winter because they are both white. They were replaced with a wolf, and a classic roc. I got an element and an Element X for free this spring, and I started throwing them. I thought they were great discs until I brought the Rocs out again. I do need a new one, but the DX Roc trinity is the best thing that I have found. .

I agree...those were the only Rocs I used to throw. I liked KC Rocs, but found the inconsistancy really frustrating.

I have a bunch of ching flat tops which i love, but the best one imo is the 02' cause its soo versitile. Ive thrown all of the years ce and i like the 02 the best. I threw an 01 this past weekend, and while its nice and overstable, its not as sweet as the 02.

Plain ole DX, I tell ya. Works great and is readily available at regular prices. :)

Apr 27 2005, 11:13 PM
I agree with rhett. Dx is my favorite but I also carry a Pro plastic (worlds fundraiser) as my overstable roc.

DDH you almost said something nice about Innova! Better be careful. :Dj/k Nice putt on 14 at J&B last weekend! Sorry I didn't get it on tape! It was the best putt I saw all weekend! I did get the one you missed on 15! Your reaction may get you on the bloopers segment.
Sorry for the drift. Gotta go with the regular DX Roc max weight. They just keep getting better as they beat up. Most predictable disc I have ever thrown. The real question is can you ever have too many Rocs?

It is a toss up between the Birmingham Rocs and the Lavonne Wolf Rocs.

The Birmingham Rocs are just super straight, no fade. And stay that way for a LOONNNNGGG time.

The Lavonne Wolfe Rocs are really hard plastic, that beat up nicely into the perfect turning disc.

But I throw Buzzz's and Wasp's; I only have a few B'ham rocs left.

The best rocs are the bottom stamps, they start out stable and take about two month before they start to beat in and fly strait. After four months they start to turn, and at half a year their one of the best turn over disc on the market.

Apr 28 2005, 11:17 AM
I too have to go with the Ching flat tops, long lifespan and very versitale throughout its life.

I am partial to Ontario rocs. I like the way the plastic on the older ones feels, and I like the way they beat in to a very straight disc with little fade.

2005 USDGC Special Blend Roc @ 178, "big red" won't let you down!
Straight flyer right out of the box aka Ontario Roc but won't "collapse" on you like a regular dx roc. 2005 World's super roc @175 (heavier if you are a big arm) for when you want a more overstable roc.

All ROCs that belong to ME are the best... so if you want YOUR ROC to be the BEST... you'd better send it to me :D;)

But really... the 10X ROC in my bag that was a gift from a special friend of mine is the one that flies the most true for me. It was so stable to start and took so long to break in, now it's slightly understable and goes exactly where I throw it!

Yeah, Rocs are fine, so I give them their props. And yeah, I SWORE that putt on 15 was in...that was heartbreaking! Anyways...yeah...back to Rocs...

Apr 29 2005, 03:20 AM
I've got some dx rocs that are x-outs in pink that I absolutley love. One is beaten to death, and makes a great tunover. The other is a straight flyer. They are kinda light (174), but I wish I knew more about them and would buy some more.
I will say that the new 2005 SB Roc is quickly becomming my "go to" roc in a lot of situations. When I need anything except a slow turnover, I pull this boy out of the bag. Good glide, good speed, and goes exactly where you throw it.

My thoughts exactly. I threw my first really good roller the other day. The disc landed right next to the basket. Unfortunately I was trying to throw a nice straight shot. A more predictable disc probably would have ended up somewhere undesireable. ;)

max weight flat top roc that you can keep in your bag the longest.
had a red stamp 8x flat top that was in mine for about 5 years, still working on a replacement.
