If an Am & a Pro play open in a doubles tournament and finish in the cash, can the am decline & the pro still get paid?

That is a good question!
Could the TD give all the cash to the pro and say, "Now don't you share this with your partner now!"?

yes the pro can.
It happened at pro world mixed doubles in Iowa in the mixed doubles. The champs were DAve Feldberg and Teresa Bellinger, who is an am.

Thanks MTL. That's gotta make "paying down" difficult to figure.
Not me Rob. Craig Law asked me about it & I didn't know. He's going to play Double Trouble with Greg Diemler.

If I'm not mistaken, Feldberg got his half share of the winner's cash, Teresa declined hers. Her share passed down into the purse, just like cash declined in a singles tournament.
If Greg & Craig are playing Double Trouble, They better sign up. This weekend is fast aproaching.
I raised this question about 4 years ago for our Roctober Doubles tournament. I don't remember who told me, I think is was Brian Hoeniger, that the 'Pro' player gets their half and the other half can either go to the first team that missed cash or can be divided among the cashing teams below the declining am. It depends on what the TD wants to do.
