East Roswell Park's Disc Golf Course will be hosting its' first ever PDGA event on June 11. The championship layout is over 6000 feet in the woods and the best players in Georgia have played rounds on this course at or around even par. The amateur layout plays to nearly 5400 feet. Please check out our website at www.eteamz.com/rrpd (http://www.eteamz.com/rrpd) and click on the disc golf heading at the top of the page for more information. You may also e-mail me at [email protected]

I would like to invite all players that haven't played our course yet to make a trip to Roswell to check it out. It is very demanding, yet a fair test of disc golf. If you are coming near the Atlanta area, the new East Roswell course is a must play for all disc golf enthusiasts.

Hope to see a lot of you on the course. And oh by the way, there will be a $10,000 hole in one opportunity. We are in the process of securing that insurance contract right now.

I have thought about trying to have an insured ace contest as part of a charity tournament (though probably $1,000 or $2,000 instead of $10,000). How do you find the insurers for those kinds of contests, for disc golf? Also, how expensive is it? (Obviously, it depends on the hole length & number of contestants.)

I used www.hole-in-won.com. (http://www.hole-in-won.com.) Usually, you can count on the price being anywhere from 3 to 5 percent of the prize total. The name of the guy at that company is Kevin Kolenda and his number is 800 959-5322 or email at [email protected]

Best of luck.

You are welcome. By the way, Hall of Fame Classic winner, Phil Arthur, only shot even par on our front nine for 27 holes a couple of months back playing all three tees. This course is quite the challenge for all disc golfers. We also had a local doubles event and Ryan Renz/Rand Eberhard were the winners, also at even par for 2 rounds of the entire 18 holes. I am looking forward to having some of the best players from around the country come play the full 18 in singles tournament format.
