I was out on the course today and was throwing a Pro and Champion Orc side by side. The Pro Orc was dusting the champ Orc by a good 30' on every throw. I'm just wondering why the Pro Orc is so much better and has such good glide?
BTW, I set some personal bests in distance with the pro orc today. This is the single most incredible disc I've ever thrown.

Because it is less stable. You get more glide before the stability of the disc takes over and it flexes out.

you should try out the pro starfire. it's more stable/predictable and has the same great speed. it has become my disc of choice on tighter fairways where i must rely on the low speed fade to keep it in play. :D

It's the same for almost any driver that comes in both champion and pro plastic. Pro (and dx also) are less overstable as already mentioned, they usually get more domey which also produces more aerodynamic lift. These factors are important especially in the late part (fade) of the flight, where you can get these discs to keep going forward and glide while the speed decreases, where their champion counterparts would instead fade and "die".

Ive noticed that the dx tend to go farther, but thought i was imagining it. This seems to explain it much better. Too bad it gets beat so fast. Thanks for the info.
