I am going to be playing in the Gator Country Classic in week or so and have not been able to find a map or anything of the course online.

Anybody know if it is wooded, open, long, short? How many turnover holes?

Anything would be great. Thanks

No Floridians on the board? Guess they are all on a course or at the beach.

This site and PDGA Directory sum it up pretty well.

ok levi...don't know if you are playing am or pro(i'm listing approx pro pad distances),but for am holes are shorter but pretty much the same lines..trees are mostly pines and palms with bushy florida holly lining other holes...
descriptions that follow are from my last visit there before moving to az,but the course couldn't change that much as it is bordered by houses on 1 side and roads on the other 3
concrete tees mach 3 baskets

1..around 350....open with a few trees..o.b ditch on right is usually strung
2...around 280...wide open...ob ditch on right...basket next to a tree...
3...around 325...trees with gaps between tee and basket...danger behind basket about 30 ft(swampy area)
4....around 300...lower ceiling...trees down entire right side...a few trees down left side
5...around 375...creek runs through fairway around 300-325 depending on angle to basket...trees down right side...trees in the way on left side...trees on other side of creek that come into play if you throw too straight to avoid water...shot is a nice s shot to park hole..
6...175...trees down both sides of 20 ft wide fairway and beyond basket
7...around 350...trees down right side for 1/2 the fairway...tree on left side near tee and basket is on an elevated mound(around 5 feet)..
8...around 300....trees all over the fairway and guarding the basket
9...around 400...trees line both sides of fairway and around basket area...
10....around 425...trees line both sides of fairway and around basket area...
11..200...some trees on both sides and behind basket...
12...around 400...trees downd right side of fairway...some trees on left side of fairway...drop off ob creek beyond basket
13...around 300...trees on right side of fairway..tree wall blocking basket and around basket...shot is a skip shot or hyzer that turns at about 280 ft..
14...around 240...trees all over...
15...around 225...trees down both sides and in front of basket..lower ceiling
16...around 500...wide open field but basket is to the left of a stand of trees...drive must be placed for turnover or straight upshot if going left side or land far enough from trees if going right side to allow spike hyser to try to get through trees...
17...around 330...tees off through trees(right side and spotty in the fairway)....basket is in open field...
18...around 450...tee area is open but lake is about 325 to cross(you can play safe/dry to the left but it doesn't leave you very good options for upshot)...parking lot to right and beyond basket are ob...

sometimes they add a few holes around the tennis court if need for oversized tournament field....mostly open with some trees..basically a loop between 18 and 1

i hope this helps you and you have a great time at the event....tell harrigan i said hi

Keith,

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like a pretty fun course. It is an AM only tourney, but they may have us play the pro pads as well. I am fairly new to the sport (less than a year) and hope to finish well in the INT Am division.

no problem...i hope you have a great time and play well... being a newer player alot of the holes will play into your strengths(if you are a righty)....just remember on some of the holes if you can't throw as far...a midrange thrown straight goes farther than the longest flying driver thrown into a tree :D

let me know how you did afterwards...
