Has anyone compared them? Im hoping the CFR will compliment the pro as Dave said the CFR was the stable mold and the pro is the L mold. Also, Dave said it is hard to tell the diff bet the 1st and 2nd runs of CFR. Anybody shed some light?

Yeah man, I've thrown both runs and the pro lines. The 1st and 2nd runs really have no difference in flight characteristics. If anything the 2nd run is less stable at high speeds and turns less at the end of it's flight (when thrown for distance). The pro line definitely fly much much further with less power. They have much more turn to them than the CFR's and wouldn't be that dependable in winds, IMO. But, the pro line is still great for long distance throwing, ie. distance comps. When I'm throwin for distance with them, I use 80% power and no snap and will usually get about 445+ out of my drives. With too much snap they usually fold over and ANNIE out. With the CFR's I usually only get about 400 or so with full power. So, if you're wondering which one you should keep in the bag, I would say the CFR just cause of it's predictability.
ha, yeah i have a pro starfire and i am starting to not do as well with them, it must be because i am over powering it.
When you say not as good with it, is it turning on you? What wt is it, is it getting some dings? What range can you get?
i think i just may be trying to throw it too hard, and i do drive sidearm. I am not the greatest but i can get somewhere between 325-350 on my better throws where i don't mess up on. I haven't really tried backhand but with what i've heard it is doing better with some people.
I guess it is just that i am throwing it a tad high. A few times i throw it too much down when i get nervous and it just grounds, i think it is because when i was just starting to play my friend was always like "don't throw it so high" so when i get nervous i just cut it down too low. I love the pro starfire though, i highly recommend it.
seems its tendancy to turn a bit and especially the fact that it finishes strait w/o the dependable hyser finish would make it a very bad sidearm disc. Have you tried a 150 Zflick? I slightly injured (pulled muscles) for both my sidearm and then my tomahawk at kimbal pines (most difficult course ever!) earlier in year and switched to the flick for tommys and sidearm and its brilliant!

I've got a CFR arf and a proline arf as well, both same weights... and the CFR arf gets to sit around all day and do nothing.
ARF! (Acitone is fun)

No i haven't tried the Zflick. All i have really used is innova discs. That will be the next disc i get though...if i can find somewhere that sells it. The only places were i live sell innova but maybe a few side discs like a JLS or maybe just a few discraft but that is it. If not i'll get a dyed innova something.

Yeah, using too much power with the pro lines is not advisable. You don't have to throw the **** out of it to crush 400. It's that sweet a disc. It's kinda like a CFR, that's hit 150 trees and is under max weight. Oh yeah, I only throw max weight distance drivers (Starfire/Beast, Teebird). They are easier to control, for me and better in the wind.
