Love it for pure D (set my personal best by 16 yards at VA States this past weekend), but too unpredictable for golf. I'll stick w/ Ch. Teebirds.

I agree I love them, I do however use mine for golf shots sometimes. But the hole/gap must be over 400ft and wide open. They tend to flip in a headwind.
But the DX Orc is my main distance comp disc.
i second your enthusiasm about teebirds. i have 3 in the bag that i just can't throw enough. there used to be a champion orc in the bag, too, but i recently replaced it with a starfire, hoping it would be a little more teebird-like. so far i'm pleased.

I love the orc for straight shots around the 400- 420 range, 400 ft hyzer's, and 450-550 s-bombs with the right wind. I usually only throw 175 g. for orc's.

172-175 are the way to go, especially if you are a HUGE power thrower, the ORCS tend to flip but not as much as some other things. Mark Molnar has some great X-out Orc's for a decent price. I bought 6 from him not too long ago.

That's funny that some people don't use Orcs for golf shots since they're unpredictable. I think they're great straight-flying distance drivers. I may not have a cannon, but if I had an Orc, no wind, and a fairly open hole, I could throw it flat (not an S-curve), and throw it 400 feet with as much accuracy as any other disc. It's my teebird...I've never been able to throw Teebirds well.
To each his own I suppose. Orcs are sweet.

I had a tbird that i don't think was ever in bounds on one of our more difficult holes. I'm no big arm but at 350'to 400' an orc is my best bet.
I like discs that have no high speed turn.. they are just more predictable for me.. that's why i throw mainly teebirds..
I've thrown orcs before though. I have a pro Xout Orc that is probably a first run and i hate it.
I have thrown the Champion Orcs and they are Fast and stable. Might pick one up some day.

1st Run Champ Orcs are the best! I have one day-glo 175g, that I got the first week they came out... and If I lost it I think I'd cry...
My favorite distance driver for sure... it's true that you have to learn how they flip, and how they fly, but once you do, they are VERY predictable. :D
My orcs are indispensable. That said, some are better than others. I like the domier ones better, as they are less overstable and have better glide. I am as accurate with this disc as any other and can throw it consistently 400'. I recently tried the pro orc and absolutely love it. It has better glide than the champ orc and is easier to throw. Less overstable.
The orc is a great disc but unpredictable in head winds...The pro line defently goes further but on wooded holes it can take a hurting. The champion line is very durable but after numerous whacks to a tree it turns over..The dx are awesome in the rain but have been known to get beat up..
If you want a disc that goes very far try throwing the new Pro Line Starfires...Super fast, super distance...I love to throw them on open holes..

So what are all you guys that think the Orc is too flippy using in the wind? My experience is that any true long range driver flips in a wind, T-bird, Wildcat, XS, Orc, Beast, Flash, Crush etc. For true into the wind shots I move up to a Firebird or some such.
Back to Orcs. The Orc is the best all around disc I've used. I grew up with XS' and T-Birds, went to the Beast and then was seduced by the Orc. The Orc, for me, is the most wind resistant of the lot. I use a range of weights and they get me through everything. 161-163, downwind up to 400 feet for my old arm (flies like a Beast for me). 164-166 very light wind, will annie a little but good flights. 167-169 straight as an arrow, will take moderate winds with some turn. 170-172 straight in moderate winds good fade at the end. 174 if thrown carefully will take winds up to 15 miles an hour and stay fairly striaght.
No other disc in my bag has ever given me the versitility under different conditions that this one does at different weights. I basically throw two drivers now, Orcs and Firebirds (O.K. I have a Monster for when I just have to have a hard turn under windy conditions.)

Whatever...go throw an Illusion into a headwind...beats all those others by 50' for sure. They are a little overstable new, but perform like NO other into wind.
That said, I see people throw Orcs nice with crosswinds, but I personally never really cared for them...the Starfire is Innova's best disc for sure. (I threw one for like a month right before I started throwing Gateway)

I prefer the DX Orc. Lots of control with that disc. Pro Starfire for distance, and even into a headwind.

I flipped a new Spirit in a headwind and then threw a Flash over 400' in the same wind. All I did was adjust my release angle...imagine that, you actually have some control of how a disc flies!
Regarding Teebirds and Orcs...I find them to be just about the same stability. The Orc is faster, so it flies lower and when it turns, it turns faster. The Teebird is clubbing down from an Orc, pure and simple. It is slower and does not go as far, both factors that add to its predictability for high speed throwers.

I once threw the ORC 525 ft. Then I woke up from falling asleep on the couch with my arm jerking out in front of me. It is an exellent disc, however, when I'm awake on the course. Go ILLINI!
