Why are you laughing. Discraft discs fly way more consistent run to run then Innova discs. If your a good player though it doesnt really matter because once you throw a disc 3 times you know how its going to fly and you can put it in your bag and use it.

While different runs of innova discs may be different, at least the ones in the same run fly the same.

Thanks Russ, Keith and I spoke early this year and I didn't think I would be playing much this year. Discraft had to trim a few peeps. The ax fell where it fell. But here I am and I will be in BG at the NT tomorrow. Funny how things work out.

McCoy never said he left Discraft because innova's disc where better, He left because of the specific people that where sponsored by Discraft.

he left because they demanded an apology from him while allowing others to do and say what they wanted.

I remember talking to Todd Branch when Coda was playing advanced at Veteran's and would have taken 4th in Pro. I told him they better pick Coda up before Disc Craft gets him and Todd told me something about they don't pick up players that don't have atleast a 1,000 rating. At the time I was thinking they had better make an exception... looks like they did.

Is 6th place, 1 stroke from the finals at a NT enough for ya Chris, He showed up to Bolwing Green never seeing it and 1 stroke away. By the way Champ Firechickens are more stable than Preds ;) Fly just fine in these Okie Breezes :p

Justin's a STUD.

Maybe Justin's playing a little over his head right now or maybe he really is continuing to get better but I'll share a lil something with you to show how good he played this weekend. After 8 holes of the 3rd round JB had me by 8 strokes, I went on to birdie 16 out of then next 20 holes carrying into the 4th round and I picked up a whopping 3 strokes on him in the time frame. I was playing RED HOT golf and trying to put a little preessure on him, but he wasn't fazed at all. Props to all Dave Mac's guys they played very well this weekned, but JB was in a class of his own this weekend.

Kev I have to say when you gained 3 strokes on me at Lovers I was a little worried that you might catch me. Then I told myself to stop playing TOO safe and start playing to WIN. The rest is history. I didnt actually notice that I birdied 7 of the final nines hole until Dr. Rick said something to me. I guess I was really in a zone.

I have done some amazing things in the bowling world before I was a disc golfer, but winning last weekend is one of the best things ever.. It was a pleasure to play with you as always.

I believe Innova picking up Coda was one of the smarter things they have ever done, even though he hasn't reached the 1000 mark yet. I've heard a lot about him and have seen his stats and know his rating will be jumping a lot in the next few updates. But I just got a chance to play with him this weekend and was even more impressed how he handled himself on the course. He started out the first hole ( a fairly simple birdie ) having his putt hit basket and roll down a hill taking a 4, and never blew up once. He handled himself very professional like, especiallly for a 17 year old kid who just moved up from am. He continued to turn that round into a 1040+ round. I think just give him a year or 2 in pro and he'll be up ontop in no time.

I couldn't agree more Chris. I'm super excited about Coda and Boobs coming up and playing good in this area. My whole time being an Open player I haven't had too many people push me to that next level in this area of the country. These two will force me to get better to be able to compete with them. I've had to carry the OKIE flag by myself in Open a looooooong time, now Young Jedi CODA can help with representing OKIEland. Coda will also help us OKIEs continue the domination of the Texicans. :o We'll have 4 OKIES at USDGC this year, WHOOOOO HOOOO! :D

hey man why you gotta go there i love teebirds yes but never threw them as a DISCRAFT team member. I wasnt sponsored until after the 2004 memorial and if my memory serves me correctly i was in OKC in august of 03 so good try but no dice. ive found x-predators that fly just like those **** birds anyways so basically were all throwing the exact same stuff mine just has a better name and i can be proud to represent a team that hasnt held the game back at all. How many innova guys get hooked up with RVS? DCRAFT has lent out rigs to at least 5 players, they let me hop aboard for almost a month in 03 and i wasnt even on the team! Thats a team i want to be apart of as for McCoy i honestly think hes scared of the rustla and just cant deal with it anymore, you on the otherhand young grasshopper you can still fix your mistake!!! give Keith a call Monday :mad:

I am so sick and tired of this. Look the disc does not make the player. The player makes the disc. I have met sponsored players from Innova/Discraft/and Gateway. Most represent thier sponsors very well, others i would not have them sponsored by a bagged cow manure company.
People throw what you like and when newbies ask for advice tell them to throw what feels comfortable and give them advice on Technique not Brand Names. And YEs Geographic location will play a part in what the majority throw but dont rag others esp younger players to the game.

I feel strong that with people like JJ. Pete M, Scott Slater,Mike Jo, Barry, Burl, Ken, etc This game will be played with class and people will have lots to learn from and look up to. If some other people get sponsored **** tournements will turn into infomericals.

Oh my, you are lucky im in a really good mood today. Actually ive lived in Des Moines all my life, and just recently moved away. So do i need to move back to get better? Do i also need to move back so i am not a "f*gget?" I mean, since your sponsored, i should listen to you right? Maybe your sponsor should check out this thread, and see whether you really deserve your sponsorship.

I really don�t see a need to make this personal. I know this has been said over and over, but I believe there are several manufacturers now making great discs. We as players have the luxury of picking and choosing what works best for us. Take Gateway for example, as a new player about 5 years ago I picked up a chief and an apache, they flew nowhere near as well as the Discraft and Innova stuff that was out at the time� But I�ve seen their sponsored players absolutely crushing their new stuff as of late, congrats to them for continually improving. I haven�t thrown a non-Discraft disc in so long that its hard for me to objectively claim Discraft is the king� What I do know is that they have been nothing but gracious to me, and I have been nothing but proud to throw their plastic for the past several years. As far as the respective Team Members are concerned, I have met GREAT representatives from all teams. As our sport continues to grow, I only see the allegiances to manufacturers becoming more commonplace. People will choose what manufacturer they like for a number of reasons� here are some examples off the top of my head: 1.) Proximity of players home/local course to manufacturers headquarters, 2.) A players personal preference to a type of plastic, particular disc, etc., 3.) A player was introduced to the game by a player or group of players who throw a particular brand of plastic, 4.) A player throws a particular brand of plastic based on regional availability, 5.) Affinity to a manufacturer because they sponsor a players favorite tournament, 6.) A player is a fan of a prominent nationally recognized player, 7.) A player knows, respects, and is respected by a local sponsored pro player, and of course there are many others. The bottom line is that players will choose a brand of plastic to throw based on MANY factors, but the influence of sponsored pros does exist and as such the sponsored players out there should take time out to be courteous and respectful knowing that their actions can turn a player onto their manufacturers discs� And unfortunately, it can just as easily turn them off. More important of course than �turning� a player onto your particular manufacturer is turning them on to Disc Golf in general, as that benefits all. It�s interesting that Disc Golf continues to parallel Ball Golf in many ways. You don�t see ball golfers out there who select a Ping 3-iron, a Callaway 5-iron, a Macgregor 7-Iron, A Nike 9-Iron, and Taylor Made woods. Why? The financial reasons are obviously there, but on a more basic level the player wants to have the same feel to every shot. And that�s why I think fundamentally players out there who have the choice to throw whatever they want eventually end up with an �All X-manufacturer Bag�. And with ALL of that said� Throw Discraft! :D

In responce to jdavidson's post about loyalty. I am primarily a discraft thrower. about 50/50 in my bag but the favorites are discraft. Honestly the main reason I have preferred discraft to innova lately is because the Z plastic is much harder then the Champion. Well Innova, being the "innova"tors that they are have reformulated their champion plastic and now it is really hard. The Orcs are coming out domey again, and hopefully it will last longer then prior champion plastic.

Lastly, I do not think that anyone has a justified reason to say X-manufacturer is terrible and no one should throw them and exclusively throw another unless they are sponsored players. And even so, a good player will throw any disc well. Heck, give an old grandmaster that has been playing since the sport started, a frisbee and he/she will do very well.

It depends on what frame of reference are you talking about.

I owned a #2 Slice. It was a great disc, turned nicely right out of the box. However the plastic beat up too easily and it flipped instead of turned.

Are the discs just too big? Some people prefer the smaller Discraft, Innova, Gateway discs.

Is it the plastic like I named above? Lightnings plastic beat up really easily, they were good for a few throws untill you hit a tree or a rock. However Innova has that Pro Line plastic. I personally refuse to throw it. 1. It is too grippy (I throw DX in the rain) 2. Too understable. Why have a Pro Starfire that throws just like a Champion Orc? 3. Beats up too easily. Hit a couple of trees a its flippy. Does that mean that Innova's Pro Line plastic sucks or does that make Innova terrible? No. All that it means is that I do not prefer their plastic. I know a person who got paid by lightning to win a tournament throwing only lightning discs. Of course he won. However when he was practicing before the tournament he had to get new discs before each round because the plastic did not hold up.

i heard this weekend that lightning has moved to Austin area. They are still making discs, but most of them are sold to rec players and Japan. (some Japanize guys tryed to buy the place a few years ago)

I beat more 945+ rated players at Bowling Green ALONE then Matt Hall has in his ENTIRE CAREER :eek: And I havent even played 2 years of tournaments yet :eek:

Coda has SICK GAME!!!!!!!! I give him mad props for having so much skill at such a young age. I also say let the Kid throw whatever he wants to throw. Discs are Discs a Player makes the Discs. Discs dont make the player.

And dont judge my game when you have NEVER even seen it. I won an A Tier and got 7th at the biggest Am A Tier in the world. I mean what do I have to do. Move somewhere where the competition sucks and win 7 tournaments in a row for you to have respect for my game :eek:

And yes, Matt Hall is another one to watch. The kid has game. But I would still rank Coad above him and way, WAY above yourself.

I havent even been playing 2 years yet. My first tournament win EVER was The Memorial. You call a first place at a SUPERTOUR a decent finish. Then you call a 7th at another SuperTour with 250 of the best am in the country a decent finish??? What kind of dope are you smoking???

Coda may very well have a couple world titles under his belt by then but you havent seen my game and who knows. I MAY have a world title as well :eek:
