I have been a big fan of Innova discs for a long time. I bought my original set face to face from Tom Monroe and other discs over the years from a local retailer. Well, the local shop stopped carrying all but a few discs so I turned to the internet the other day to order a few new discs. While I was perusing the Zone Driven web site I came accross Innova X-Out discs and Innova Double Stamp discs. They were priced a little cheaper than the regular discs (although not by much). The point is, I could not find a good explanation on Zone Driven's site or on Innova's website as to what these were. Do any of you guys know?
I am kind of guessing that the double stamps have had their logo applied twice accidentally during the production process. Does this affect the flight characteristics of the disc? I have no clue on the X-Outs.
Thanks,
Don
Many sites have the Official Definition of "xouts" but this is generally it:
An X-out is a Factory SEcond.. IT is a disc that does not pass quality standards for some reason.. USually it's a stamp problem(miststamp.. double stamp). OTher times it's Discoloration in the plastic. And other times it's Imperfections in the mold... like bubbles in the rim or Drips on the lip or grooves in the lip.. etc.
All of these things ARE NOT supposed to affect the flight of the disc, but i'm not too positive about that.
You should be alright buying Xouts.. especially if you want to try out a disc that you've never thrown.

Yeah there is nothing wring with the X-outs at all. I know that Gateway has a good deal on mistamps 5 for $35 or 10 for $50(pretty good deal a $5 a disc). :D:D

The Xouts that I've had had only a few minute bubbles in the rim area, and fly just as good
Is it alright to use X-outs in competition?

Yes they made the PDGA standards just not the manufactuer's. They want to only sell retail product that are in the best possible condition and if a mistamp or some other infraction(usually not noticeable) occurs then they sell them a X-outs. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Cool Billy and I are playing together in the Blitz.
Cool. Thanks a lot guys. I haven't purchased any X-outs yet but I was thinking of grabbing some Aviars to use as practice putters. I wasn't sure if the flight was the same, but since they apparently are, I'll grab a few.
Thanks guys,
Don
Also on the X-out tip, speckles of trash (black things in the plastic) can cause a disc to be an X-out but DO NOT effect the flight. I actually bought an X-out Firebird today and its a beauty and flies the same as any other....

what are those speckles?? and where and how much for the x-out aviars??
Im not real sure what the speckles are but they dont affect the flight.
The Zone Driven pro shop (www.zonedriven.com) has X-out Pro Aviars for $8 a peice, but they also have 5 disc practice sets for $25 that are all double stamps.
That is what I was looking at.

A few of us recently bought some x-out double stamped disc. We were curious about what causes a disc to get double-stamped?
