i have been told if a player does not finish a tournament, he/she gets a round(s) socre of 999 and this does not effect the player rating.
what happens if a player wants to play the second day of a 2 day tournament ? the rules pretty much say of you show up late you get par + 4 for all the holes. do those rounds of 126 get factored into a players rating or can someone get 999 for the first couple rounds of a tournament ?
thanks,
fritz

I think we've indicated that TDs should enter round scores as 777 if a player doesn't play one or more earlier rounds but plays later rounds. That way we'll know to look for the later rounds to do ratings. Rounds with 777 or 999 act as if they never occurred in the ratings process.

That's the first I've heard of "777". Is it in the TD Report somewhere that I failed to read? Just curious.

It's a popup note on cell B21 & M21 on the Scores page. I didn't have room to put it out in the open without messing up Theo's input wizard. We'll try to get it more obvious next time around. However, we're not particularly encouraging the practice of players skipping earlier rounds and playing later rounds. It's been tolerated at places like Worlds but I don't think we want that option to become commonly used.

I do my scoring on my own spreadsheet and then dump the results into the TD Report when I'm done. No wonder I didn't see the cell notes. :)

I encountered this situation during the El Dorado Open earlier this year. A player couldn't play the first round due to prior committments but played rounds 2 & 3. I entered his first round score as par plus 4. Should I modify the tournament results so this player's rating isn't adversly affected? What is the proper remedy after results have been turned in?

Contact PDGA HQ to get the first round score set as 777. We would probably catch it unless it's a young junior player because the score would be too low rated to even be counted for most players.

Do d-tiers count towards rating....

D-tiers are rated assuming you have enough propagators. All doubles, match play and most X-tiers are not rated because the format isn't close enough to regular singles.

If the event is that long ago and the results aren't official yet, it's likely the event report still hasn't been turned in.
I suspect that events after the April 16-17 weekend will not make it into the mid-May ratings update unless they really hustle to get the TD report sent in.

What if the TD did turn in the results from a Feb tourney and points aren't updated? How long does it normally take to update? Do Pros points get updated 1st and then the rest of us?

After the first points update of the year, around mid-March, points get updated close to monthly. I suspect we'll have an update near the beginning of May. Pros and Ams get updated at the same time.

who knows. I think I was suffering from PTDSD yesterday.
That's Post TD'ing Stress Disorder. I think I was also suffering from that Sunday when all I could do was win 1 skin after winning the division Saturday.
