Does anyone know who among the top Pros will be playing Bowling Greene next week??

I could have sworn a month ago the PDGA Tour schedule said this event was April 30th. Now today I see where it says April 16th.

Just wondering if I was wrong about this and if I am right does this mean the Wedding of that top Pro will not conflict with this event ??

Thanks !!!

It is the 16th and 17th and has been those dates for a while. There was talk last year of moving to another week but conflicted with other stuff so we are back to the middle of April.

Most players don't sign up for this tourney till Friday night as they know we don't have to worry about filling and don't charge a late fee. You can check www.bgdg.org (http://www.bgdg.org) for pre-registers as they get updated.

I'm experiencing deja vu! (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=334626&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1)

Yeah your not experiencing dejavu . In this Thread, I posted that I thought I saw where the Tourney was scheduled at end of April a month ago when I first asked this question. I was wondering because I thought they might have changed these dates during this time thus affecting who would and who would not be there.
Thankyou !!

Is anybody else getting thoroughly creeped out by the "Top Pro" stalker quality of this guy/girl?

Check out every thread he/she has started and see what I mean.

*shudder*

Seriously, dude/dudette, relax and go play some golf, you're freaking me out.

Ha Atwood,
Get off the stalker crap. I just started playing DG about 7 months ago.
And I am thouroughly intigued with the Sport. And I have never actually seen a human being throw a Disc 400ft. in real life.

It is incomprehensible for someone like me to see someone like that Dg-Pimpin throw 550ft. I definitely believe him but I bust my butt and can only get it just over 300ft in my as of yet short Disc Golf career.
Let alone see people shooting -15 on a Disc Golf Course like I have read on the Internet some of the Pros shoot . I don't get a chance to play with a whole lot of people and just have not seen this Caliber of play in real life. Does this make me a stalker ???

And does it make me a stalker because I am soooo excited about next week being able to see for the first time what a Disc looks like when it goes 450ft+ ??

Bowling Green is relatively close to where I live and I just never have seen a tournament with Pros since I just recently took up the game.
I suggest instead of trying to start trouble and criticize people, you might further the quality of this Game a little bit by realizing their are sincere newbies out there who are eager to see how a Pro throws a Disc in a Live seting.

And you might try thickening your skin a bit.

You're right though. I'm an insensitive bastard who's never given anything to the sport or helped any newbies.

You've shamed me into silence.

Is that all it takes? :D

Hey Creekside... why didn't you come down for the BG AM event last weekend? Some of those ADV Boyz are playing at a PRO level. You could have even seen the CBLickPimp crush drives 400+ft at White! :D

Yeah where were you for that. I was throwing almost 500 ft and those were controlled GOLF SHOTS

Plus girlie is really cute and you could have seen her throw too ;)

Yeah,
You know I didn'teven realize the caliber attending that week. I did have prior obligations but I did not even read the Thread until this past Tuesday about the Bowling Green Amateur.

Anyway, no offense but its still a distance for me to drive to BG !!
And I would just soon save the gas and money and wait two weeks to see the big boys play.

Kind of like the difference between the Natiowide Tour and the PGA Tour. All the guys on both Tours are awesome Golfers but if I had to choose to watch one I would chooose the PGA !!!

P.S. Plus DG Pimpin in all due respect ,why would I choose to see you throw 500ft. when I can see the Open Professionals do the same thing and also be able to Putt too ?? /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Just basing this assumption on your own omittance about having a weak Putting game !! :D

All that has changed now. I only missed 1 or 2 putts inside the circle all weekend at BG and i made 3 putts outside 40 ft :D Too bad i couldnt get inside the circle at Hobson

Plus i hate to break it to you but most of the SUPER PROS will be a Schwebbys wedding next weekend so you will be seeing alot of lower skille pros out there trying to qualify for USDGC.

Hey Creek,

Mark harasses everyone (and always in the spirit of fun), there's only one way to deal with it, tell him you hear he has nice legs in a skirt... :D

I remember my first big tourney where I saw the pros play; Worlds 2002 in Houston. It changed how I approached the game from casual to "I want to do what those guys do." You are correct, as much as pimp talks up his distance, when you see the pros play you will quickly see that it isn't their distance that makes them special; its their accuracy. For shot after shot those guys throw long and on target. Then they putt lights out. Enjoy the tourney.

Apr 07 2005, 06:49 PM
Lyle, I'm surprised by your generalization.

I have nice legs, no matter what I'm wearing. :)

Apr 07 2005, 07:08 PM
Pimpin,
Congrats, l guess I will no longer make that assumption about your Putting !

And yeah it kind of sucks about the Top Pros missing. I found that out last month in the Original thread concerning this topic. I kind of wanted to see my first Pro Tournament with The Champ and Barry Schultz in it.

You read all these articles, books, videos about these two people and you want to see what makes them so great in person . Your eager to see the flight of their Disc, their course management,
Putting .. etc....etc...
They become somewhat Legends to you and you want to see how and why they are so much better than yourself and everyone else.

But hopefully their will be some other top Pros who show up in realization they have a chance of making good money with the lesser competition ??

I got to play a round with Brad Hammock and Ken Climo at Fountain Hills In AZ the monday after the Memorial and the only real difference between a good advance golfer and a great pro is Mental game and CONSISTENCY. I found I had pretty much all the shots that they had they just could repeat them on a much more regular basis then i could. They are also GREAT PUTTERS!!!!!!!!!!

If i could stress one thing to practice its putting. Since I learned a SOLID putting stroke and started putting 100-200 putts a day everyday in my basement my games has become 3 to 4 strokes better a round. Now all im working on is mental toughness, course managment and consistency.

I know what you mean though man. I LOVE watching the SUPER PROS play. They can do some amazing things with a disc. Good luck with your game and i hope you get to see some great golfers even though most will be at Schwebs wedding.

I think the disc will look very similar, just further away. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It's the attitude of creekside that's exactly what disc golf needs. Everyone wants disc golf on tv but no one goes to watch live. If more "Ams" came out to watch the Pros then maybe there'd be a reason to put us on tv and even spend advertising dollars on disc golf.

Dude come on down to BG and see some awesome golf. PM me and let me know when you'll get here. I'll be working during the tournament, but I'll make sure you know where to be to see the most.

PS large am turnouts=large pro payouts
