Just tell MOMMA she can have your winnings to buy herself something nice. Didn't you collect near a GRAND two years ago John? I think MOMMA will let you play if you bring that kind of cheese home to her :D

I finished 4th 2 years ago, $600 or so. I remember some Discraft superstar pro threw this insane shot on hole #14 after being in #16's fairway after his drive. That thumber up, over, and out of the wrong fairway is one of the most memorable shots that i've seen in 12+ years of DG. Not to mention the anhyzer throw in from across the gulley to finish the hole. :D
$75 seems to low for OPEN in an NT event.

As far as i've heard, no Temple Open this year.
That's a shame. A case of Texas having too many great golf courses and not enough weekends for all of them to get to host a tournament.
Could it still be run as an Am-only C-tier on the same weekend as the Waco Pro event?
gnduke
Mar 29 2005, 05:57 PM
An AM only event would not be a conflict with the Waco NT event.
$75 is not a typo. This will be the most affordable NT of the year so far. Just thought we would try something different in hopes of attracting more players. The regular cashers probably won't like this but , the payout should still be strong. (Below is example) We will see how it works out, and if it doesn't, we will go back to the old way.

With a $75 entry fee this event better fill. I imagine the field should be well over 70 open men. These courses are too fun to pass up.

You going to jump in the river this year Albert?
That hole 17 is hard enough. :D
Got something special for everyone this year. Hopefully everyone will get join in for this. Lunch on Saturday will be BBQ served at the course. Rick Turner has lined up an old Chuckwagon cook who supposedly cooks up some mighty fine vittles. Then on Saturday night the Player's Party will be on the river at the Lake Brazos Steakhouse. Located a discs throw across the river from hole 11 on the Olde Course. 7pm dinner. After dinner at 8:30 we will be boarding a genuine paddlewheel boat for beer and cocktails as we cruise the historic Brazos River.
Lunch and Dinner will be provided for all the players and staff for your players package. For the beer and cocktails you are on your own. I am really looking forward to this part of the tournament. It should be a great time.

Air port park is closed for the next couple of months.
Do you know which of those other camping grounds are closer to the courses.
Midway would be the next closest park. About a 15 minute drive. They do have showers I believe. Or you can camp for free at Woodway Park which is primitive and not used much.

15, 16, 17, and 18 are all long right now.
It looks like 14's long pin is no longer in use.
And hole 9 is closer to the road with no bambo in the opening.

A little heads up on the Motel 6's in WACKO. Both of them feature SOFT WATER in their showers...if you wish to have a good shower, I wouldn't suggest Motel 6

Nice guess.....
Open Men Round 1 on the Beast was SSA 56.45
Open Men Round 2 SSA 50.04
Feldberg shot a 52 for a 1039 in Rd 1(for others add or subtract 9 points per stroke)
Round 2 a few people tied with a 47 which was a 1030 (add or subtract 10 points per stroke to get others round rating)
I heard in round one that what hole you started on played a big factor because the wind got really bad about halfway through.
(Oh, Justin Bunnell shot both rounds under 1000, rd 1 987 and rd 2 980)

The only midrange to make it over was the Holiday Buzz baby. That's right ladies and gentleman the Holiday Buzz. The Roc failed :Dand it took Gateway awhile just to make a driver over. The Z-Crush was the first over and after about four Orcs sunk to the muddy depths of the Brazos, one finally made it over. Their was lots of excitement at the Brazos Stakehouse when we were throwing from the deck. I heard something about a pinto, hyundia, and a lexus, but I won't comment on this quote for fear of discipline to that player from his/her sponsor.
Looks like my two favorite first day slackers, D. Stacey and Jim D are POISED and ready to kick it in gear on Sunday like they always do! :)

2nd-4th + one 5th place player shot 3 rounds above 1000 and failed to win. Feldberg shot 4 1000+ rounds to win by 2 over Coda and George Smith.
Joel Kelly shot 1 stroke better than Feldberg and won Masters by 15.

With the new rules and his 950 rating he can accept cash and still play advanced. The real question, though, is will he?
I guess we'll see next weekend at COTO...
Pizza God
May 08 2005, 10:16 PM
If he takes the cash, then he can no longer play Major events as an Adv player. If he takes the cash and his rating moves abover 954, he is stuck playing Pro.
As for me, I am playing Adv at PDGA tournaments till either 1/1/06 or if my rating reaches 955. (whichever comes first)
