Frisbee Golfers,

On the first Monday in May @ 5:30pm, the inagural league will kick off at the new disc golf course in Farmington Hills. The course is being installed in Founders Park on 8 mile road near Gill in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Founders Park is a small park that contains an ice arena, softball and soccer fields and a 9 hole disc golf course, named "The Farm" to be installed in April. Founders Park is in the southwest corner of Farmington Hills. Exit I-275 expressway at 8 mile road, travel east for about 1/2 a mile and turn left (north) into the parking lot.

The course sits between the softball and soccer fields and has two ponds, a stream and some tight woods. Waterproof shoes may be advisable. 3 of the holes are over 400 feet long. For tournaments we anticipate closing the softball and soccer fields to create 9 additional temporary holes of considerable length, difficulty and uniqueness.

The design team includes Brian Farmer and Dan Peron, both employees of Farmington Hills Parks & Rec, Critter Bill Themm and me. As expected, all holes are righty hyzers of varying lengths.

Frisbee Golfers,

Um...what is "Frisbee Golf?" Is it like Disc golf? I have played a lot of Disc Golf but never Frisbee Golf.

Sounds good...Unfortunately I rarely get out that way. Just be sure to get that place listed (I have no idea how to do this) in the PDGA course directory and on the www.discgolf.com (http://www.discgolf.com) course directory purdy-please. Also, based on what I am used to on some courses here in MI, is that water fairly clean or is it near a sewage outfall? In other words, are you going to need to don a haz-mat suit to retrieve a wet disc? Places like Knollwood Park in K-Zoo or Riverside park in Grand Rapids come to mind. Locals at these places will tell you to, "AVOID SKIN CONTACT WITH WATER." You might want to mention that in your course description.

Also - ALL righty hyzers? Umm...ok but I think you're going to irritate some southpaws out there...
