Anyone know what the youngest anyone has ever been to shoot a 1000-rated round?
I might have the youngest 1000 Stroke round.

I assume it was Steve Rico. Followed by Keith Warren??

Coda Hatfield maybe??? I think he had a 1000 rated round when he was 16 or 17.
How old are Keith and Steve? Keith shot a 1017-rated round in July 2002. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=3051&year=2005&include_ratings=1#Open), and Steve
shot 1033- and 1018-rated rounds in 2001 (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=2417&year=2005&include_ratings=1#Open).
Justin Jernigan shot 1012- and 1014-rated rounds at the USDGC in 2003. I believe he would have been 15 or 16 at the time.
Also, Myles Harding shot a 1032- rated round in June 2002 (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=3003#Advanced), the year he won the Junior (under 16) World Championship. Under the divisional rules at the time, that would have meant that he was 15 at the time. (I believe he shot a 1000+ round earlier in March or April of that year as well.)

I think Steve Rico is around 24 or 25 right now. And Keith Warren I think is around 19 or 20.

Don't forget Matt Orum and Jonathan Pierce who may have had 1000+ rounds at age 15 or so. Rivers Sherrod may have done it before ratings got started in 1999.

Keith is 21 now I am pretty sure

Chuck is there a way to actually find out in the PDGA system? I was j/w because a friend of mine said it might be me... I shot 1001 last year in the second round of the Fairfield Open in August; I was 14 years 8 months old

Roger could do it but it doesn't make sense for the moment. There are all kinds of records that could be dug out of the data. However, since the ratings calculations are being tweaked starting with the next update, we want to redo all records. All numbers will change slightly. At some point, we're going to go back to 1998 and regenerate everything using the new calc process. So we will have the ability to pin down records on the same basis for everyone from the time ratings started. Your potential record is most likely safe until we can eventually confirm it.

Maybe not. I took another look at Myles Harding's rated rounds, and it appears that he shot a 1016-rated round at the 2001 Mach I Amateur (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=2747&year=2005&include_ratings=1#Advanced) (Oct. 2001). According to the profile on the Innova Team website, Myles was born in 1987, so depending on DOB, he would have been either 13 or 14 at the time.

I believe Coral Sauls turned 12 years old this year. His 80 at Brooksville (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=4620#Advanced) will be close to, if not 1000 rated.

Hmm ... let's see, now: twin sons, 13 years old ... that 2 x 13 = 26 years + you were 44 at the time ... 26 + 44 (6+4 = 10 ... write down 0, carry the 1 ... 1+2=3 +4 = ...) ... DANG! You're old enough to be a Legend! :p
