You're probably used to tight wooded fairways, us Cali boys are used to long open bombs. The elevation will be the only thing you'll need to get used to, and that will only take a day or so. Are you stayin at Little America?

Elevation is no problem after the first day, especially at your age. 3 rounds a day is no big deal, with the exception of the Snowbowl course. Aside from a few holes, the anhyzer shots weren't that hard. They were the same holes that I was using a thumber, side arm, or buzz. You'll be chillin if you can throw a thumber 75' high and 250' long, and have a 300' side arm. If you stay at Little America, it will be hella convenient since its Tournament Central, and hosts a course.

Waller pines was a good time.Managed to avoid any molesting by the king of pop, and after a -6 first round, followed by a crappy +3 second round, i managed to hold onto 4th. IB Bob finished 11th i think, and all of ODR had a good go at it. All in all, SD did well.

If you are a "jump putter" you need to have more confidence than someone that doesn't jump putt because you have to hit basket or you will fly by and have a long putt. Also just because you jump putt does not mean you are WEAK, Me and Dave can throw further than any of you fools so recognize!!!!!

Sorry to bust in on ya'lls smack talk...

But just found out that I have to go visit Northrop Grumman this week. I arrive San Diego tomorrow around 1:30 p.m., but don't have to be to NG until Wed. morning.

That means I have Tuesday afternoon and evening to get in some DG.

I'll probably also be able to get in a round on Wed. and Thursday evenings after the work day (then head back to Austin first thing Friday a.m.).

What's going on in SD during the week (disc golf-wise)? Any local weeklies? And recommendations on where/when to play?

I was thinking about hitting Morely Field when I arrive (sicne it's close to the airport) and then driving up to Emerald Isle on around 5:00), and then hit Mission and Sun Valley on Wed/Thurs.

Does this sound do-able? Should I just skip one of or more these courses? Which course is the must-play?

You could skip Mission Trails, it is expensive and takes as many as 4 hours for a round.

EI is a must! Thursday they have singles at EI. Low attendance but good fun.

Morley field is really crowded and not very enjoyable this time of year, but on wednesday we have a doubles event that has decent attendance and good players, it starts at 5pm.

Sun Valley is a new and very enjoyable course with lots of elevation and little traffic, I'd suggest getting out there a couple times. SV is 9 holes with two tee pads, effectively 18 holes.

Why couldn't it have been last week??? We are leaving for Flagstaff on Wednesday, otherwise I would've given you a tour.

Tuesday night at 5:00 PM is doubles at Emerald Isle. We've had 19 and 22 players the last two weeks. Not "Wednesday at the Vet" sized, but still pretty good. It's a good way to check out the course with a partner.

Wednesday night doubles at Morley would be good, too. Bring a hard hat, though. Great course with far too many players on it.

Sun Valley is great fun, too.

Are you going to be in Rancho Bernardo? Long drive to any course from there due to traffic if you are leaving between 4 and 6 PM.

Sorry I couldn't make it out to Bayside this evening...I had just enough time after my flight landed to get in a round at Morely.

Fun little course...wasn't as crowded as I expected. Birdied 1,2,3,7,8,9 (missed a 20 foot birdie putt on #10), 12, 16, and 18, and 19. Bogied #4 and carded a 3 on the rest. -9 on 19 holes...thank god my thumber was on today...lots of opp to use it out there.

And what about this amazing weather? It was 98 degrees back home in Austin today...and it was what? 80 here?

Yeah we had our heat wave last week. It mayy have hit 100 in the East County. Looks like they'll make you play A pool tommorrow in doubles. And Morley is fun if you want to have fun. :D :D

And that He and Lowell did two circuits the last two years, one this, and one the first year, so that would be six Forays� for those two.

We actually did this last trip on the cheap. Slept in the back of the Rizbeemobile 2 of the 3 nights. Ate lots of tuna fish and PB&J sandwiches, drank lots of free water.

SOOOOOOOO nice to drive around a beautiful course ,with golf carts , nice cigar and drinks and good players !!!!!!!!

It is sad though , 2 baskets were stolen from the course.

Holes # 2 and # 3. Chef Aaron and myself , brough out baskets for some relief for the tournament.

Any Information leading to the wherabouts of these 2 baskets , will be rewarded with CASH !!!!!!!! The Individuals who are responsible , will be violated. :mad:

I'm really sorry that alot of San Diego Players , both Am and Pro , chose not to play. Some had actual commitments , I understand , like Bobby Benner's Wife , having a Baby. Your totally excused Bob. Other folks , had to go to weddings and funerals. Also excused. A couple of guys were Out of Town.

I'm not sure why not going to a course that is about to be pulled is "not supporting disc golf in San Diego." Going or not doesn't really do anything!

What time are you going tomorrow, and who all is scheduled to show? PM me.

If you are really interested in going , I'll be out there about noon. If you want to go earlier , cost for walking is $10-15.00
