I have read the articles on the turbo putt, and I think it is something that I will enjoy. My question is, if you or someone you know turbo putts, what disc do they use?

What ever you puTT with.
I only know 2 people that turbo putt. One uses a Challenger and the other uses a Champion Aviar.

I'd say any putter...although from anything outside of like 20' you would probably want an overstable putter such as a Wizard or a Challanger...but once again, any putter would do fine.
I only turbo putt when im forced too but from longer distances I like to use a less stable putter so the disc doesn't hyser out early like my turbo putts like to do from longer distances.
Flip your turbo putt disc upside down. Now it will fade in from left to right. This is called "The Twist", a Tom Monroe specialty shot from back in the day. Benefit of this is that IF you miss, the disc will not travel far from the basket like the turbo putt.
BTW, he and I use either the Super Puppy or Omega SS for this particular putt.
turbo putting! well first i started with a driver, then switched to a putter.
now i use a super soft baby *****, that glows in the dark, and floats in the water, it's beat just right, CE, drawn on, special blend with no flashing
oh yeah big bead aviar

I turbo putt a lot. I use a Soft Magnet for regular turbo putts, and a soft Challenger for upside-down turbo putts. I guess I like the stability of the challenger on upside-down putts.
My farthest turbo is about 100', but I don't try to throw them that far on the course. I'm comfotable and fairly accurate under 70' on the course.

That's sick.
Ask Mark Martin.
last time i saw him he was using 10x KC Aviars. that guy has got to be one of the best turbo putters of all time. :D
i very rarely use the turbo putt, but when i do i'll just use my regular putter (bb aviar).

I turbo putt exclusively and while most putters work fine I really like the Wizard. I also like soft rhynos or Omega SS's. I need to try the Omega SS again. It has been along time since I last used one. The soft putters get a better grip for the turbo putt.

Mark Martin used KC Aviars until Wizards debuted...but last I saw he has switched back. It makes sense to have a larger/taller putter for more contact area...and yes, he's a dammn good turbo putter.
I agree that it's best if you can learn to do most turbo putts with your regular putter (especially short shots 40 feet and in).
If you use just 2 fingers for a turbo, rather than 3 or 4, then I would think it would be more important to have a disc that is grippy and doesn't slip out of your fingers.
People that throw super-long turbos (I don't) tend to flip their discs, in which case you would probably want a more stable disc (e.g. the most stable DX gator you can find).
I like to use something a little faster so I've been using the XD and Element lately in practice, but I'll just use my Wizard if I have to turbo putt. I just don't do it often.
I have been playing disc golf for 2 years so im not a nOOb...but in my 2 years of play i have never heard of turbo putting.....please fill me in

I try to praccy a bit of turbo putting, as well as a 3 finger sidearm flick putt... both have gotten me out of some very icky siutations. I'm also a big supporter of the pancake. These are rarely 'go for it' shots, but the flick is pretty solid for me.
Another alternate putt is the overhead, crap in my way tomahawk putt. But that's goof off time anyway.
All three of these 'alternate' putts are thrown with a champ rhyno, as they die remakably well around the basket.

might have heard it as a 'pizza pie' throw... it's an overhead, thumb in middle bottom, fingers on the lip, roll off the fingers toss. Mostly for over something in your way. You roll it off your fingers, pinkie to forefinger, using your thumb for support.
Ok thanks man i was just wondering because it was weird after 2 years of play never hearing about it..
p.s. I think i will stick to normal putting

I turbo putt almost all the time from inside about 45' and I use omega AnP's right now. I find that I need a harder disc or I get a lot of flutter, thus the AnP instead of the SS. I've used proline Rhyno's and they were nice, just to slow and only good inside about 35'. Fast, overstable, and hard is the way to go with you're using turbo. Now if only someone would make a putter with a hard flightplate and a soft rim I'd be in heaven.

Didn't/doesn't Whamo or Aerobie make a PDGA legal disc with this configuration? Perhaps it isn't a true putter...but rather more of a driver...?
Has anyone tried the Bulldog as a turbo putter?

I haven't tried the Bulldog but i've considered doing so several times. It feels pretty good the way it sits on my hand and is pretty sticky because of the floating plastic.

I wonder if it is possible to make something like a BB aviar that the rim is made from the really soft JK plastic and the top from the super hard KC plastic? Oh Davei???
