Thats the best way.Or the best way if you sell on Ebay.
There are up to three ways I know of, one of which is the belly button, which I find unreliable, the cloudy/clear method{ if the disc is cloudy clear in the face; its a 1st run.} this is the easiest. The New run of Orcs are clear. They obviously come in colors, but the plastic is clear w/o the cloudy. The third is a method with the rims, but is difficult to explain unless your very familiar with Orcs.Another common misconception is that all "pearls" are 1st runs. All cloudy clear are first, as are most of the more domed Pearls. It has also been told to me that the flat top Pearls are second run.{ That I cannot verify, but the flatter pearls I have came from after they were out of stock at Innova East} I hope this helps. If you can send me some pics,I can probably tell you.

I'll second the "cloudy/clear method" (they're clear, but not that clear)
I have seen 3 diff colours... colourless, neon-yellow, and peach (all 175g and very domey). there were probably more colours, but those were the ones I got right off the bat. I think the best way to tell is to look at the dome, like a whippet or something, really domey!
The next few runs were all flat topped and pearlescent.

Our local vendor guy had a really big stack of pearly whites when they first came out.

LOL! :DI have no idea how to tell, I just go by the method Chase told me, the cloudy/clear thing he posted about...
But everyone, feel free to send me your nice Orcs! :grin
I'd ask you know who... he probably knows exactly how to tell which are first-runs...

Pretty sure he's been sold out of the first runs for a long time...they are rather popular for some reason. :o

What's the chances of manufacturers putting 1st run on 1st run discs (as they have in the past) to eliminate all the confusion?

I didn't buy any orcs the day they came out, but bought them since and haven't really noticed a "run" difference. Maybe I just didn't get a 1ST run but they all seem to fly the same for me(clear or opaque). How are 1st run Orcs any different from the others?

The first run Cloudy/Clears are less stable, more glide.

just to clarify, they are more stable, they are less overstable, and do have more glide. (sorry for being picky)
