what do you think? my personal distance faveorite is the dx beast. i feel the dx orc has a little more resistance to hi-speed turn and a little more low speed fade. for me, it is not as long as a dx beast with my throw.[hyzer flip up to straight with very little fade, about 420'] where does the pro starfire come in? i have seen it and it looks very different from the dx orc. the non-concave wing [L] makes it look like a super-fast TL

i also thought the pro orc was less stable [hispeed] than the dx beast. i assume the pro beast is less stable than dx beast?
well so far this starfire has added 20 feet to my drive, after about the first 2 throws with it. so by the time summer rolls around i think it will add another 20 feet or so.. it has amazing glide, t and the low end fade is enough to bring it out of an S curve. all in all, i think this disc is gunna do wonders for me.. cant wait to try the dx orc though

I personally dont find much difference at all between the Pro Starfire and the DX Orc.The Pro Orc {IMO} isnt a fair representation of the Orc.The first run Pro Orcs were garbage and the seconds arent much better.I only throw mine for anhysers.Assuming the Pro Starfire beats in the same as the Pro Orc,Id suggest buying multiple DX Orcs, and saving some money. Also, its my opinion the DX Beast is more stable than the DX Orc.

dx beast more stable than dx orc? interesting. i found the opposite to be true, but not by much. these 3 [dx beast and orc, and pro starfire] are very similar and work great for my long drives. the beast feels the most consistant for me though. still working with the pro starfire. anyone compare dx beast and pro starfire?

I do find them more stable. It is March though, and I live in Illinois.I havent been in tune with my stroke much, so I may change my mind about the Starfire-Orc reference.

my personal favorite is also the dx beast, however when i threw the starfire it flew almost 50 ft further than my beast. the starfire seems to have the same stability but less turn through the flight. the dx orc (at least the 2 i got) were definitely less stable than my dx beasts. if thrown 75-80% i get a nice predictable S curve with good distance. if i try to snap them, they just flip over.

In the Ask Dave D. thread. He says that they went back to the original DX Formula like the DX Beasts. These first run gummy DX Orcs are a one time deal. I will keep one aside incase it increases in value.

Well I have to review the Pro Starfire after a few good throws with it this morning. I can throw 400' with a good crank, and farther if I really reach back. This is flat land with usually a beast ("Old Pro Line") Orc, beat up CFR Starfire. Well I was heaving this one 400' with what seemed like little effort! I was trying to throw anhyzers without them coming back, but it still did! Was going straight for the basket, and then the low-speed fade kicked in. I'm not sure how many great throws it'll be good for, but I'm going to get another one, and keep breaking this one in, and use it for open, down-wind holes! Here's my rating:
"Est. date
of run:" Feb-05
Brand: Innova
Plastic: Pro
Disc: Starfire
Color: Blue
Type: Distance Driver
Speed: 10
Glide: 5
Turn: -1
Fade: 1.5
Durability: 6
Primary use: Helix/S-curve drive for distance
Pros: VERY fast, fairly stable disc
Cons: Innova's pro plastic is not quite right yet as far as durability
Field test: Thrown flat, no wind, goes straight. Tried big anny with tailwind, and it flexed a lot before fading left.

Nice work Jeterdawg. If you remember, try the same workout after 2 weeks to report on durability.

Make it 3...hopefully I'll get to play the Pecan Park Open in piney Nacogdoches, TX, and then World Doubles in San Saba. That'll be plenty of good throws hopefully!

I'm digging the starfire so far... I've only got to throw it a few times, and they were on a pretty windy day. But I forked it over to my bro Eric Dotson and he proceeded to blast over 400 easy on his first throw.
The PRO STARFIRE goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO FAR!
Is that a problem that everyone is running into? I like to keep my distance about 270 feet. When I throw the Pro Starfire its going like 450 feet, thats too far to walk.
Quit making discs that go sooooooooo far that it makes me walk further to get it.
just kidding :D :) ;) :p :DI LOVE IT!
kevin, have you tried the Pro Orc? they are MONEY as well :Dthe pro plastic seems to boost speed even on discs that already haul-[*****]
I tossed a pro orc on Sunday (171g). It very well could be the longest disc I've ever thrown. Very straight, much like a flash for stability. This thing just glided forever, farther than a champ orc. It didn't seem overly flippy, as some people claim. I can't wait to find a starfire.

I found almost everything you said to be true....for the first week.

I have tried the Pro Orc but prefered the Champ Orc for its durability. That may be the reason in the long run I throw the Champ Starfire. Although I have never hit a tree in my life, so maybe the Pro Starfire will stay the same as new :D

I love the dx Orc that first run plastic is sweet and grippy. It has tons of glide. I bought 4 and am thinking of buying more!

Why? Did the disc die on you soon after?

Depends on how you look at it.It will only hold hyser with a stiff tailwind. It is now a monster anhy disc. You could say it is reborn as a beat TL.
