A quote from one of the top Pros in the World, Chris Herren, on a thread 5 years ago from mid 2000 . He was a beginner back then and is now rated about 17th in the World in this Great Game. I know many of you have seen this Post but I thought it would be worthwhile to have its own new thread and give us newbies much inspiration !!!
I hope Chris you do not mind me reprinting this. If so let me know and I will delete this Post.
QUOTE from Chris Herren:
"OK guys, I need some help here. I've been playing for a little over a year now and while my game has improved, I'm still only driving 200 feet. For some reason, I think it may have to do with the lack of a snap in my wrist. The problem is, no matter how much I practice (a couple of times a week in an open field) I'm not sure what a proper snap is supposed to "feel" like. I'm currently working on my form assuming that it's probably the culprit. Can anyone describe a good backhand throw technique from the run up to the drawback, etc.? Thanks in advance! "

This really gives me much motivation to not give up this
game. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I started in Sept last year and could only throw 175ft. In two months got it to 325 ft. where I have been the last few months. I was about ready to stop my practice in an open field out of frustaration because I just can't get pass this distance. But seeing that it took a top Pro over a year to get over 200ft., I think I will continue my practice with serious focus. :D
Don't mean to embarrass you Chris but could you possibly expound some on your progression after this first year and at what time period did you realize you could turn pro , and when did you hit 400ft. etc...
Thanks in advance
