Howdy Everybody -- we have just received word that the Parks Commission hearing on whether disc golf will stay in Golden Gate Park has been rescheduled until WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6TH at 2pm in CITY HALL ROOM 416. At this meeting one of the Commission's subcommittees will hear a presentation by Parks staff and hear public comment.
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU ATTEND THE MEETING ON APRIL 6TH! If this hearing goes well the issue will be sent to the full Commission on Thursday, April 21st for a final decision, but if no one shows up the dream of a permanent disc golf course in Golden Gate Park will be dead. So please start making arrangements to be there on APRIL 6th. We will post more information in the next week but for now please note the change and DO NOT come to the Commission hearing this coming Thursday (St. Patrick's day).
Also, if you have not already done so we're asking people before April 6th to take two simple additional steps:
1) send a letter to the Parks Commission. Simply go to:
http://www.sfdiscgolf.org/feedback/feedback.html
2) Please call the Acting General Manager of the Parks Dept. (Yomi Agunbiade) at 415-831-2700 and tell him that you want the course to be expanded and made permanent.
Thanks!
