Anyone know why Stephen Hall at discgolfforum is stiffing people on Ebay? I was throwing with a guy today who has paid for several discs over the past two months and received nothing. It looks as if there is a bunch of other people in the same boat. It looks like alot of the discs that people have not been shipped are X-outs.

I know he supposedly sponsors some of the regulars on this board. His feedback was good for so long, just wondering if anyone knows anything....

That message has been up for awhile. He has quite responding to email and phone calls.

Not true. His number is posted on the front of the webpage and I just spoke to him on Monday. And the disc will be sent out this Saturday. He has moved and some personal issues. I also know that he stated he will throw in some discs for the long wait for some people.

Na, he's a nice guy. He used to live up here in Green Bay. Cool guy to shoot a round with. Didn't seem at all like thats the kind of person he is. He even gave away a disc to my friend who was starting out at the time. I wouldn't worry about it.

Mar 10 2005, 02:54 AM
My playing partner won an auction and paid for a Z Storm about two months ago and still has not received anything. He was lied to about it for weeks and then the guy sent him an X-out disc that in his opinion was better than a new Z disc when that is not what my friend wanted. He then promised to send another disc to make up for it and still has not done that and it's been more than a month...the guy is a total fraud and a liar.

yeah he says this and says that, but NEVER responds to email and I think he is a liar. I have been waiting since January for a disc, I repeatedly tried to contact him. I accidentally found his disclaimer of moving being sick etc. he never bothered trying to email me about this.
Pay Pal only allows a certain timeframe for resolution, I emailed him telling him I would refrain from listing negative feedback if he would only contact me, he never did. I waited until I could not wait any longer and filed a claim waited for a resolution and then posted negative feedback.
He may have been a "nice" guy at one time but now he is only a JERK!

If you sell something on Ebay you should send it with in a few days. If not you should contact the buyer to see whether or not he/she wants to wait.

Whether or not some accusations are true, it's bad business. Hopefully people see this and realize not to buy from him.

what a bummer!! is there a way of identifying e-bay sellers?? :D

It is a real problem trying to ID an Ebay user. It is too easy to be anonymous. The last guy that did me wrong on ebay I had to track his email address... Luckily he had his resume online and the search engine found it. Then I was able to call him and get the situation rectified.

Someone led me to this on his website today. Based on the previous few messages and this post, he has made alot of promises that he can't keep. Seems as if he is in way over his head. Regardless of tough times, you should never list an item on Ebay unless you are prepared and able to ship it promptly.I hope everyone gets their stuff.

hey guys, i know i'm completely negligent in getting you all hooked up so here is the deal...

if anyone wants out of the forum i will hold no bad feelings except toward myself. just post it in here and rip me if you want... i deserve it.

however, everyone who wants to remain on this team will have dgf gear and discs before the season if i have to work overtime pounding nails to do it. just because the disc selling business i had fell apart does not mean there is not a ton of potential here so i hope everyone is not mad at me, i am doing my best and my best will get better. i appreciate all of you more than you know and i cant wait to play some golf with you this summer... regardless of what may come to be between now and then

That Ebay review post for Stephen's Disc Golf Forum is:

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=stephenatdiscgolfforum&frm=1728

Everyone that has any questions about his creditentials should check this out. He owes me about quite a few discs from Ebay. I haven't even posted my feedback yet because I kept hoping that he would follow through. He was good to work with at first, but then just started falling apart and stiffing people. I know that I have emailed and called many times - each time to no response. I don't know if he did just get over his head and then couldn't follow through or what. But the fact remains, as of now he is ripping me off. I am just now in the process of going through Ebay's system to try and recover some of what's owed. What has been really frustrating is his ability to post comments on disc golf forum, but his inability to reply to emails & phone calls because of his move and illness.

Maybe Stephen will sack up and own his mistakes by making things right- maybe not. All I know is that I haven't heard anything from him in a long time. It's a shame that someone that has tried to promote the sport like he did ends up giving it a black eye. It doesn't make sense to me. Those of you that know him hopefully can point him in the right direction and clue the rest of us in on what is going on. Especially you guys with that are sponsored by Disc Golf Forum, he is hurting your cause and future sponsorship.

By the way, I have heard about this alleged chat room called "Stephens Rant Room" on Disc Golf Forum. Does any one have a link to take me there. I haven't been successful in my attempts to find it. Thanks

Yeah, this guy sold me a Z-Storm and then after a month of emails from the guy that it was "in the mail" I finally started getting ******. I was the first one to post negative feedback on his ebay account. Two months later he sends me an X-Out TL that he said was out of his "personal collection," and that the disc I bought was on the way. I haven't seen the disc I bought. I filed a claim with Ebay but since it was under $20 they couldn't take action. Then he has one of his buddies post like 16 positive feedback lines right after the negative one I left. That was hilarious.

We exchanged a few more emails while I was filing the claim and he said that I would get "preferred" treatment now, and that I he would pull down any disc I wanted from the auctions. What a load of crap.

He is in a lot of trouble if people start going through their credit card companies to get payments refunded.

Click on "Visit My Store" from the feedback link posted above and this is the message he has posted:

"Disc Golf Forum's HQ is now in Green Bay Wisconsin. If you are experiencing an abnormal delay in recieving an auction you've won over the last few weeks this relocation is the reason. Rest assured i have all the payment information and everyone will be getting their discs over the next week. Anyone(the few of you) who sent me emails laced with profanity and ignorance(kfrancis & boob in tahoe in particular) can expect jack until i get written apologies. -stephen"

It's great that he will only hold up his end of the contract and send goods that people have ALREADY PAID FOR if they send him a written apology when he is the one completely in the wrong. Looks like he's willing to take people's money but not thier criticism after stealing it from them, because that's exactly what it is...theft.

Mar 16 2005, 02:13 PM
What a F*ckin d*ck! I hope I don't see him out on the courses in Green Bay now that he supposedly moved back here. Stealing peoples money is absolutely pathetic. That bottom feeder deserved the profanity laced mail he got!

grubdog let me clarify a few things with your post. You stated that he had a buddy "post" 16 positives in a row. Well those post belong to me and I was not his buddy. I was a customer just as you were and I received everything I bought in a timely manner 2 weeks I thought for the shipping I paid (NOTHING). And I have been happy with every purchase I have made from him going forward and before that. That is why I posted the positive feedback. So going forward it is better to know the facts about the posts before opening the mouth and inserting foot.

Also I stated that I was not his "buddy" at that time. I am however now what you would call a buddy. And I became that way over some of my last purchases. I two went quite a long time without any word on my discs that I bought. So I picked up the phone and called him. I found out what the situation was and I can understand that what was going on would be hard at best to get things from ebay out. I have since been in contact and received what I ordered and I have no complaints. It is a 10 dollar piece of plastic that will not end my life if I do not have it the next day. And if I would have needed it the next day I would have sent money for priority shipping. So from my standpoint I have been very happy with my plastic from him. He answers his phone if you have not tried it already. Call him after 6-7 EST.

Mar 17 2005, 08:28 PM
Wooky,

I'm glad to hear that you weren't his buddy "at the time" when you posted all that positive feedback. That makes me feel better about your current buddy's ebay problems. I guess I wasn't 100% wrong about the buddy thing. Can I take my foot out yet?

I don't know about everyone else, but why should I have to pick up the phone and call a vendor, who is under contract to send the goods I paid for, to check and see how his personal life is or if he is cool with sending my stuff sometime in a 2-3 month period. He was fine when he took payment.

Also, nobody is talking about getting their stuff next day. I don't recall anyone complaining about that (you can't insert your foot now). We are talking about MONTHS going by without delivery. That's fine if you are satisfied with the long waits the rest of us, who are not his buddies, are not.

So, does he have a 1-800 # or should I bill him for long distance between 6-7 EST?

Mar 17 2005, 09:33 PM
For what it is worth - I tried calling his phone # that is listed on Disc Golf Forum repeatedly. I left messages the majority of times. I never once got a telephone call back from anyone at Disc Golf Forum. It is ridiculous to have to wait 2-3 months to receive paid for items from any vendor. If he was going through some rough times, fine. Then front up to everyone, and take some responsibility for your actions to begin with. Inform people. Give them their money back. Whatever - just own your actions. As a customer, you shouldn't have to fight with a vendor to receive the stuff you paid for. In the emails I sent him, I told him that if he lost my stuff or can't send it to just refund my money back. But he chose to not respond at the time. Is it just some plastic - of course. It is the principle and ethics of the situation that have gotten people upset.

Mar 18 2005, 02:04 AM
Grub,

I understand that you are peeved about what has happened to say the least. Like I said I have never had any problems with him or the discs that I ordered. And the first time I had a problem with my discs is during his move and that is when I contacted him. And I have had to conact other vendors before to get products or complete shipments so I guess to me that was not out of the norm especially considering I had never had a problem before. But he was upfront and told me what was going on and I am good with that because what he stated to me is what he done. He told me he was going to be behind on my plastic and when it would go out. I also received emails and reached him via the phone and he kept me updated as to what the status was. And I received my discs when he said I would. So I still do not have any beefs with anything that happened. Also by law any e-business has 30 days to ship out product. But I hope that all is resolved for you because he really is a good guy that got caught in a bad situation and it happens to all of us at some point in time.

Mar 18 2005, 01:24 PM
CALL OFF THE DOGS.....CALL OFF THE DOGS...

You guys are going to crack up, but yesterday I'm sitting at my desk at work and the mail guy drops off a slightly heavy envelope with the return address of DGF. I almost started to cry.

So, of course I'm thinking that my disc is finally here. Well, it wasn't the 150 Z Storm that I had ordered, but a 160 X-Out Orc. Stephen had said a few months back that he would send one for the trouble so I can't complain (even though I just recieved a few Orcs I purchased from Innova). You have to give the guy credit for remembering to send a disc promised without any paperwork.

Hopefully this is a sign that everyone will start receiving the stuff they ordered. If and when you get your stuff you should post to let us know if this was not a fluke.

I'm glad that everyone is receiving their discs. Did he ever send the discs to those guys that left him profane e-mails?

Wooky has made a new best friend and we all have received our discs. I guess everyone is happy (except for the few guys that used profanity).

Mar 21 2005, 07:40 PM
It looks like discgolfforum.com is no longer working

Mar 22 2005, 01:20 AM
My discs showed up also. Stephen sent everything that I had ordered. I am glad to see that he was able to follow through on his promise. I don't know if anyone else received any "extra plastic to make up for it" but I didn't. I am just glad to see the discs I had been waiting for. :D
