I really like how my Thumb sits on the crease that id just inside of the rim. maybe it's because I have an ultimate backround...but I like the birdie
Anyone Like Putting With A Innova Birdie?
only a couple people i know use it. good disc if you can stand the thumbtrac.
I bought one because of the thumtrac when I started because I thought it was cool. I liked it for a day or so then tried using it on a day that the wind was over 2mph and it was like watching old people screw... was all over the place. :D :D;)

Al "Sugar" Shack is all about the Birdie. Or was, recently.

Tried the Birdie a couple of years ago after watching a good local player do well with it. I didn't do so well myself however. Found it to be too thick. Recently went to the Rhyno and am MUCH improved in the putting department. Really like the Rhyno!

had a pro birdie I used for approaches. got alot of weird air bounces that seemed to happen directly in front of the basket and hop right over.

That birdie is now resting in the Mississippi River, probaly down in the delta by now.
I remember not to long ago you seemed to like really crashing the chains with that trash can lid feeling putter Chase.
I think the reason I like the Birdie is that I have trouble finding a comfortable grip for approach shots. Fan grip seems to loose in my hand, power grip not enough control. When I pick up the birdie I just throw it like an ultimate disc and it seems to work out

The Birdie is a really slow putter that goes straight with very little fade. The people that seem to like it feel more comfotable with it because it is more like a frisbee than other discs. I liked it for certain shots, but didn't like it as an all- around putt and approach disc.
Of all the putters I have ever tired, and I have tried a bunch, my least favorite has been the Birdie.
I started with an aviar and really got to like it, then I threw it in a river :(. Being poor and unemployed at the time, I bought a birdie from the used bin and got pretty good with that since I had a lot of time to burn. Now that I have started to build an arsenal of aviars, I still put better with the birdie. One of these days I'm going to throw that one in the river intentionally so I have to get good with the aviars again. IMHO, birdies suck in the wind.
I used to putt with a birdie way back in the old days, but they taco/melted too much in the sun for my taste. (I'm less picky these days about shape).
Then they came out with the thumtrac (sp?) which at first I thought was dumb, but later on I rethunk that matter and I now think that it improves the birdie in that I think the birdie will maintain its shape better with the new flight plate profile. I would imagine that Birdie plastic would catch chains better than Rattler Plastic or Super Puppy plastic. Swirl plastic looks awfully catchable to me too, and swirls keep their shape surprisingly well.
