I have a buddy moving here soon...what are the best courses in the area?

I would say Elberton, GA (35 miles) is the best. Beautiful park.
Timmons in Greenville, SC (30 miles) is very nice and varied although a little short.
I have not played the newest 9 in Easley, SC (30 miles) yet, but the original 9 were great, so I imagine that the new 18 will also be great.
Toccoa, GA (50 miles) has 5-6 holes with cool elevation, but otherwise is rather boring, IMO. (They have done very well with the land given them to work with, so no knock on the designers!)

Your friend will be within 2 hours of Atlanta, Augusta (90 miles to the incredible national DG center that's going in as we speak), Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC so he will have plenty of high quality tournaments to choose from.

Don't forget Asheville, one of the few cities that embraced disc golf enough to have a crazy safari skins downtown!

Asheville not only has an awesome course but is a great little town to visit.

Sounds like he's in a great area with so much around!
