I'd never really thought about it until throwing in the field earlier today but....what do you think is the worst disc made? With all the new discs that have been coming out (or old) where did they just plain go wrong?
I say this because I threw a bulldog for the first time and really began to wonder what use it was. It seems real solid and overstable but if i gave it a good rip into a slight headwind it flipped. thrown flat with the wind it banked hard left even with sufficient power. I like the fact that new discs are coming out and the disc companies are pushing the sport but i think innova missed with the bulldog....what do you all think?
bulldog....epic.....arrow.....old gateway plastic...discraft rattlers.....discraft... :D
Hey! I putt with Rattlers!
Aerobie epic. Even that extra turn that you can get from throwing tomahawks was worthless to me.

There's no such thing as a "Worst Disc." Just because some of you people can't figure out how to throw certain molds, doesn't mean that the mold is "Bad."(as in Bad, not good)
Every mold suits someone somewhere. I have yet to throw a disc that i would consider the "worst disc."

Have you thrown the Arrow and the Epic??? They are 2 of the worst discs EVER MADE.
Yes i have tried both of those molds. No, i don't prefer them, but you must be having a hard time understanding this............

I have bought both the Epic and Arrow. The arrow is junk. The epic can put on a show for distance when thumbered, but the accuracy is for poo.

The Epic and aarow CANNOT be on this list b/c they were an experiement. I know the dude who won the 1100 dollar ace pool at Z-Boaz a year or so back with the aarow doesn't think it sux. And if you get someone who knows how to throw an epic thumber, its pretty nasty.....
My vote would have to go to any disc that floats. If you throw it in the middle of a lake whats the difference it is floating there and it sinking there?

I did not agree with the PDGA's decision to approve the Epic, and I'm glad it was a flop.I was afraid it would open things the market up to all other kinds of junk that newbies would buy cause they don't know better.
My vote is for the Optimizer.

Worst doesn't mean it's always a bad disc, it just means it is the worst out of them all.
I would have to say breeze, glide, epic, arrow, I don't really like the blowfly or that series, bulldog is alright though, the hydra is pointless, get a retriever if you play around that much water. I would also have to say the pirahna and birdie. Try an aviar or a challenger. The The shadow and optimizer are bad too.

Optimizers are bad for anyone that can throw over 150'. BUT, for first timers they can actually travel really far. My GF had one, but when she started flipping it too much she swtiched to a Sabre. She'll still use it time to time when she feels rusty. Plus she's nailed a few rollers with it as well.
BUT...my vote goes to the Gator. Never could get the thing to fly well...perefer Demons. Plus with the Whippet, its kinda overlooked.
Quarter K, because I don't think it really exists.

I agree. The Demon is overlooked because the Whippet is that awesome.
I have tons of worst discs, but think the worst disc I ever threw was a old Apache. It flipped over instantly. It was probaly me though, now the disc.

Hands down its got to be a disc I tried a few months back called an Eclipse.what a useless piece of plastic,it was like it was made out of soft Clay!
The WORST disc ever was the # 16 roller, or the #13 slice. Maybe it was the #8 hyzer that was more like the #4 fader :D:D:D
Pro Orc, what an understable and undurable piece of crap! The worst driver I bought in a long time.

Hey,
I found a use for the Dragon.
I'm using one right now...in the cold and snow...to do a long (for me)slow right hand turn thru a stand of trees....with no water
When the weather (or my arm) gets warm...it will probably go back on the shelf.
I don't have a wost disc, just discs that will one day be useful.

I would have to vote for the optimizer too. Extremely useless. I saw feldberg throw one on a spike hyzer at usdgc off hole #1 (before they blocked the hyzer shot with a potted tree) and it flipped, flew backward and hit the dock over by 18's fairway in the lake.

The orc is a great disc if you don't have an arm but, if you do it's has to be the flippest peace of crap out expressly the pro-orc.

I agress the Epic can do some sick stuff on a tommie, I have friends that throw a lot of tommies/thumbers and they can not controll the thing with any degree of accuracy. I have seen a couple of guys uncrork some ungodly distance with it, just never knowing where it is going to land.

True... it would be a better disc if you knew where it might land. I forgot about it's uncontrollability... just remembered seeing some sick distance... they get some ooooh's and aaaaah's for uncommon tricks.

I thought this collumn was for the worst disc, not the disc that dosen't suit your game or throwing style. Some people actually have had success with discs like the Birdie,Dragon or other discs that aren't too popular with the majority of people. They are definitely not the worst discs ever made, even though they don't work for you.
If I considered the Epic a real Golf Disc then it would have tied the Optimizer for my vote.
I've been told that the only way for a powerful thrower to get an Optimizer to fly straight is to throw it as a grenade. It supposedly flips up and flies straight.
I would test out this but I sold the last Optimizer I won to someone for one dollar. I felt kind of bad because I thought I might be ripping the guy off.
the worst discs i've ever thrown are dragons and XD, i didn't have any luck with either of them. I do however throw glides and sometimes breezes

I was refering to the Gator being overlooked b/c of Whippets...as far as Innnova goes anyways. I've always prefered Demons, and feel they stand equal if not above Whippets.

Agreed on the Demon! Putt'rs and Rattlers do not inspire me one iota.
i actually like the demon, it has gotten me out of some weird spots, i think that the epic is the worst disc just because of the inconsistancy
Lot's of discs haven't worked for me but if I had to pick the top five they would be Epic, Arrow, Dragon, Hydra, Puttr.
The XD rocks my ROCs.

The Putt'R is one of the worst discs ever made, unles you want a HUGE mini!
Also the dragon is just junk. Awful. I wish it did sink in water.
I would say that the EPIC can be an awesome disc. I guy I play with can throw it 450' tomahawk with good accuracy. It just is junk if you try to throw it any other way. It is PURELY a TOMMY disc.
I was really dissapointed with the Pro Orc as well.
BTW: Champion Orcs are my favorite discs.
your not the only one that wishes it would sink deucey....I know it wants to, the most recent times i've thrown it , it'll go right into the pond, the one time it even rolled in, but most the time it will go out towards the middle and try to sink to the bottom....maybe they should have named loch ness monster instead of dragon
I'm surprised noone has mentioned this before I have, but the Lightning #2 Putter is easily the worst disc I've ever thrown. Sometimes I get this idea in my mind that you can get used to putting with anything and that's why people's opinions on putters vary so much. Then I pull out the ol' #2 and remember why I hated putting for the first 3 months I played. It feels awful in the hand and it flies inconsistently on every single putt. I don't hate Lightning, they have some great discs to offer, but #2 Putter was the worst way I could have started my disc golf hobby.

Yeah, Climo only won a a few championships with them. :D
I have heard a few people bashing the Speed Demon and I don't get it. I like the Speed Demon although it has a very specific spot in my bag. I mainly throw an E Speed Demon and it is VERY overstable, but that is the point. I use it around the greens even. If I am caught behind a tree and need a huge right turn and get it down fast I can always count on the Speed Demon to do that exactly with a little forehand flick. Also, on holes that have a big hyzer bend about 200 feet out I can get one heck of good skip with a Speed Demon and have it bank hard left. It may not be the best disc for tunnel shots, but the disc definitely has some uses. Works great into headwinds too as others have point out in the past.

Again, it's the Indian not the arrow. He would have won throwing 1978 Diesel Mercedes Hub Caps. :o
I would have to say the worst disc ever is the Aerobie Epic.
I tried throwing one and you have to tune it just right to get it to fly good unless you throw thumbers, in which case it is very unpredictable.

Epic is fun to throw, and i have parked a few holes with one, but i only pull it out of the trunk of my car on a day that i know i am not playing well. so for my pick or worst disc ever would have to be the epic sence it is the only disc i throw only for bad days.

Those fit in the basket? Heading to Pick-a-Part now....
I got your back on that one. The speed demon is a great utility disc. The only disc I know of that will beat a 40mph. sustained head wind. It's the best skip shot disc ever made. If you want my choice for worst disc, just pick ANY lightning disc, doesn't really matter which one it is. :p
