Are Climo, Schultz, or Cam Todd able to concentrate full time in this Sport and make it as a Living ??
I just do not see how. Maybe Schultz since he did make $ 37,000 or so but are his travelling expenses paid for etc.... ???
Its sad when such a growing Sport cannot even have its top atheletes make a Living from it !!!
Somehow we need to catch up with at least the PBA. I know some of those Pro Bowlers avg. 50k to 70k a year !!
Not trying to be nosey but just curious. Is Climo able to live off making 27k from Disc Golf Winnings ?? Or is he payed Bonuses, incentives etc.... by Sponsors ???
Theres already a thread like this under "other pdga topics". Check it out. Some say yes and some say no.

I heard he's paid like $1 for every KC disc sold. Think about it...thats a TON of discs sold with his name on it...
I do not know the set up for Kenny and Barry and the other pros, I do know there are different levels of sponsorship. After talking to Juliana Korver at a Doubles match last summer. She is not only given those discs to sell like everyother pro, (I do not know her royalties), but she has all of her entry fees and lodging expenses paid back to her. I would imagine a similar setup for your top pros as well. And considering Barry just made $13K more then I did last year while I worked 40 hours a week, and I have a car payment and high rent, I would think he makes a decent living.

I apologize for any misunderstandings from said doubles event last year, but there are a few inaccuracies in the above post. Sponsored players get X number of discs, but most players use those discs to throw and not to sell. I sell used discs that I no longer use, but don't get discs with the intent to sell out of my X. I do get a few of my entry fees reimbursed, but far from all of them. I do not get reimbursed for lodging expenses (although this has happen once or twice in very unusual circumstances). There are royalties, but they are no where near $1 a disc (that goes for Ken as well).

Disc royalties are somewhere between a dime and a quarter per disc. Sponsorship discs are officially not for selling. They are for throwing... or giving away.... but hey... when you're hungry.
