maybe it's just me, let me know, but i can't find the round ratings for any december tourney. click on pdga tour, back up to december, and click on any of those tourneys. i don't see the "show round rating" option like i do for most tourneys in any other month. what's up with that? just wondering...

Those ratings aren't official yet. The results/scores are. The ratings will be official in February I think, when the committee has processed and checked them.

but there are january tourneys that have round ratings posted. of the 5 jan. tourneys with scores posted, i see the "show round ratings" option on all 5. but december is 0 for whatever. just seems weird to me.

I guess Tony wasn't clear enough. I'll try to elaborate.

The ratings listed with the January tournaments are unofficial ratings that are automatically generated by the computer when the TDs upload the unofficial results directly to the online database.

TDs submit the official results directly to the PDGA office. The PDGA folks update the online database with those official results, and in doing so, the automatically generated ratings are erased. The December events have been updated in such a manner.

Ratings updates are done separately and less frequently than the results updates, thus there will be a lag between when the official results are posted and when the ratings are posted with them. In mid-February, the next official ratings update will occur and it should include those December events. Only then will the December results will have official ratings attached to them.

Excellent. Josh's explanation is correct. You would think we could keep the unofficial round ratings online when the official scores go up, and keep them there until the official ratings go up. But that might be even more confusing than their temporary disappearing act.
