I really like the course search feature where it lists by distance from a given zip code. I use this when I go on vacation to see what courses are within a reasonable radius from my destination. However, I'd love to see this expanded to include a graphical representation of each location as they relate to the subject point, ie: a map with push pins.
Yeah, it's great to know that Course A and Course B are both within 25 miles of my hotel, but it would be nice to know if they are both the same direction or are in opposite directions from me. I know the printed directory has a pushpin map for each state. Can't we do the same online?

I'm sure we can implement a graphical view of the courses. All it takes is lots of volunteer hours, and probably some licensed mapping software (there may be an open source solution, but I'm not aware of one). Are you by any chance a web programmer?

I like the one for Wisconsin at DiscOverWisc.com (http://discoverwisc.com/wisconsin-map.htm) I would really like to see one for other states as well here on the pdga link. It definitly helps me plan which seminars to go to for work. Whic course can I hit on the way? :D

I know, I know. Here I am asking for something instead of volunteering to do it. No, I'm not a web programmer, otherwise I'd be working on it. I just had an idea of how to make the directory better. I know the website volunteers are busy. I don't need it tomorrow.

I read a Hosfeild article in DGWN (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) and it got me thinking. His article was about how many courses he had played. He also said he had lost track of the number of courses he had been to.
Is it possible to have a little check box for each course? So when I log in to PDGA.com and hit the course directory, I can see a list of courses I've played.
To explain further, I click on a state in the directory, and get the list of courses. Next to the course name is a check box, call it played or visited, whatever. I, being the user, can go to the states I've played DG in, and check all the courses I've played. With another click on a button called 'my courses' you could see a list of courses you have played.
This feature could be available to current PDGA members.
I don't have any idea how hard this would be to implement, or keep running, or how much server space it would take up. But I'm real lazy, and I thought you guys could keep track of the courses I've played. :)

Discgolf.com has the same kind of function you are talking about. Well sort of, I keep track of each course I've played and my scores at this site.
