I cracked my main putter, a 175 soft Wizard yesterday, right before an Ice Bowl today. It was the only putter I'd actually put into a basket in the last 6 months. It had a dimple where I put my thumb everytime I threw.

RIP

What have you guys done in the past when cracking such an essential disc to your game? Just go through the long arduous process of getting such a perfect putter again?

I have been using a rattler for a while, and it's beat in just right. As I realize that it may break, I have been slowly breaking in three other rattlers while I practice. While this doesn't help your immediate situation, it may be useful in the long run. More Wizards. Buy them five at a time!

You sound like a guy whos girlfriend/wife just left him. Mourn for awhile then go out and find a new putter and fall in love all over again. :p

Seriously tho, it's (partially) a mental thing. I keep 2 putters in my bag. One heavy (175) and one lighter (mid 160s). I favor one over the other but if the shot or conditions call for the other putter I'm not afraid to go with it. Plus if I'm not putting well I have something else to try.

I'm sorry for your loss.

The same thing happend to me with my aviar not to long ago. But this is how I discovered Wizards, so it's not that bad of a thing. Now I do what Erik said, always have some backups ready incase you lose or damage one. Also I think having one just for putting and one for driving helps too.

That's why I have 15 big bead grid aviars. One real beat up soon retired. Other 5 are slighty used. 9 are brand new for later since it is discontinued :(
