Valks are faster and less overstable (flippier); they also tend to be longer.

Aren't they totally different discs besides the fact that theyre both not very overstable. A CE TL is a less stable Teebird (not as less stable as a new Teebird-L). All the new CE TLs I've had haven't been too much less stable than a T Teebird. The CE Teebird TL, especially if new, will be much slower and have more resistance to high speed turn, both will fade at the end about the same.

The reason I asked is because I Threw a friends CE TL and
it seemed flippier than my valk which didnt seem right.I didnt want to pass judgement on it due to the fact it was only about 18 degrees that day.

I have a new TL and its definitely not flippier than a Valk, but I also have had beaten ones that were definitely flippier than a Valk. Either way, theyre pretty close to the same in high speed turn (Innova rates the Teebird T 0, the Teebird-L, -1, and the Valk -1) the difference is mostly the speed and glide...

TLs are better.

Jan 15 2005, 11:32 PM
That depends on the wear on that TL. I have two CFR TL's in my practice bag. One turns more then the other because it is beat in more. Brand new CFR TL's are less stable in the flight path of a brand new Champ Teebird, but have more fade, as they beat in, the fade lessens and it becomes a fairly straight flyer untill it turns into a turnover disc.

Well, are you talking CE or CFR or Candy? I thought CE, and I think they are more stable then the Valk, minus the 2nd run flats, which {at least the clear, or for me} was super overstable.I also seem to get as much glide off a TL as almost anything else. The Candys are even more durable in my opinion than the old CEs as far as stability.I have a CFR and really dont notice much difference between it and Candy.

cfr tl has LESS fade than a champion t

Jan 16 2005, 12:34 AM
Aren't candy tls the same as cfr tls??? I thought CFR stood for Candy Fundraiser like it says on the Innova site...
I thought there were the original CE TLs, then they started making them available as a CFR disc (just like the EL) too help with fundraising because it was such a desireable mold, then they started making the Pro Line Teebird-L, which is a less stabe TL basically...
Do you have a regular, non-fundraising Teebird in the TL mold? I would buy/trade for it if you do...

Jan 16 2005, 12:36 AM
I agree, all TLs seem to fade less than T lip Teebirds

Actually I have found Tl's being quite fickle discs, at least in their champion form. The ones I have experimented with are glo CFR, Pearl CFR, Clear CFR, CE CFR, and CE. The straightest are the pearl, the glo best in quicker then become straight, the CE CFR and Clear CFR are hit or miss, and the CE is very close to a Teebird. But thats just in my experience, 12 TL's and a year later.

Would you sell me a CE CFR one?? What tournament were for?? I'd like to get one...

I think the confusion is the different plastic. You got the CE TL (the original champion edition plastic)then came the CFR TLs,same mold, new plastic(Champion) then the Pro TLs,same mold, different plastic (pro) The CFRs are not CE TLs as many advertise, But rather Champion TLs like all the newer stuff

Jan 16 2005, 12:57 PM
I agree, I was pretty sure all of the CFR TLs were in the newer candy plastic. That last post was being sarcastic. But if someone did somehow have a true CE CFR TL, I'd take it, because I definitely have never seen one of those. I thought the only true "CE CFR" discs were the early (01,02) USDGC Rocs and the few runs of CE Aviars done in 01 (19th KCWO, Texas 10, etc.).
I did though, believe that the Pro Teebird-L was a slightly different mold than the TL. I was pretty sure I read that on another thread, could me misinformation though. Also, when they first advertised the the new Pro-Line Teebird-L before it came out it said Teebird TL on the disc, when they finally came out, it said Teebird-L, I assume they did that to differentiate between the CFR Teebird TL and the Pro Line Teebird-L because they are slightly different discs. The Pro Line Teebird-L also seems much more understable than a new CFR TL, more so than just a difference in plastic, I would think. But like I said, I could just be misinformed.

Yeah I agree that Pro Line Teebird Tl is more understable than CFR TL. I have CFR Texas 10 TL which is pretty fly like normal champion teebird. I like my first run Domey CE Teebird TL. It is one of the best TL I ever threw!

Jan 16 2005, 02:03 PM
i have an abnormally domey first run Teebird TL too! It's the straightest flyer ever! :D

You could be correct on the pro teebird L being a different mold, all I've seen or read of them is they dont compare to the CE or the CFR

Jan 16 2005, 03:01 PM
They don't compare at all, they're really flippy, much more so than a new CE Teebird TL, which almost seems like a regular Teebird, oh well... we still have all those nice CFR TLs that are around!

Got it at this most recent ice bowl, says CE TL on the bottom on a sticker, weighs 174g. Stamp says ice bowl 2003.

Jan 16 2005, 05:06 PM
Wow, maybe I'm wrong then, it's not candy plastic??? Cause I have a cfr disc that i was told was a CE TL, but it's really just the pearly candy plastic, not the true early run CE plastic, just sort of like all the candy TL's I have and have had that say CE Teebird stamped on the disc with the small innova swoosh logo on the front, but they really feel more like Champion. :( If the one you have is nice taffy or opaque CE, I'd be glad to purchase it from you!

Jan 17 2005, 04:38 AM
I have 2 ICE CLEAR CFR TL's. These are dfferent than all of my other CFR's and pro/proline TL/-L's. When you hold them all up, it is exactly like my CE TL (2nd run electric lemon) all others are curvey/domey. Ive been able to put my CE away now because these are them in every way! Hurray! Ill sell you the one I was going to try my hand at Dyeing (unthrown-max wt) because christmas killed my credit card and I need CASH! (cut it out, Santa!).

Jan 17 2005, 04:42 AM
Yes, CE discgolfer, per Dave I, they are 2 different discs. Its obvious, when held up together.

Jan 17 2005, 04:44 AM
It's totally ice clear? its more like champion then than early run CE... right? but I'd be interested anyways, what would you want for it? PM me

I throw Champion TBs as my main driver, and every new CFR Tl I've thrown has been slower with more low speed fade. I did not notice much difference in terms of high speed turn. I've thrown both glow and pearl Tls. TBs are the way to go if you want a Teebird IMO.

interesting--i find the exact opposite. i felt my ch tb did not have much glide and was slihtly overstable. my opaque and clear tls are straighter and longer. all domey 170ish.

Personally, I dont care for the TLs in the Pearl plastic.Or any disc for that matter. The Orcs I throw are clear, the Beasts clearer {old proline} and the Vikings are clear also. That plastic seems to be more understable.IMO.
