Im thinking about going out to the Seattle area between February 25th-March 6th and wondering what were some Good courses around that area.

You can find some info on Seattle courses if you click on this thread. (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Board=Courses&Number=142454&Searchpag e=0&Main=142308&Search=true&#Post142454)

If you are an advanced/pro golfer, I would also highly recommend the new course at Sea Tac Park. (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=1939) It features many pro par fours and is very challenging. Any round in the 50s there is superb golf.

I also suggest the the new course at NAD Park in Bremerton. It's a bit of a hike, but worth it.

My course preferences of those that I have played, in order:

1) Sea Tac Park, Sea Tac
2) NAD Park, Bremerton
3) Dalaiwood, Olalla (private course, call for directions and course availability)
4) Riverside Park, Sumner (multiple layouts are very confusing)
5) Lakewood King County Park, Seattle

I've never played Ft. Steilacoom in Tacoma but some people say good things about it. Others report that, like Riverside Park, it has many multiple layouts that can cause much confusion.

Having recently moved away from the Seattle are one of my favorite courses to play was the Lake Stevens Disc Golf Course (http://www.dolf.com/course/lakestevens/) just outside of Everett. It's a fun little wooded course with a unique basket design that makes for a nice twist on how you need to play the course.

Hey Pard,

I just happened to catch sight of your post and thought I would chime in. You see, Dalaiwood is at my house and NAD is just north of us. I designed and installed that last year. They are technical and demanding but very fun. You should enjoy them if you are a fan of Coldbrook. I also lived in Grand Rapids for a year and worked at the Home Depot in Kalamazoo. If you are coming and want to get together for some golf then let me know. Although our two courses are well marked, the others in the area require a local to get around the first time (especially Ft Steilacoom and Riverside). SeaTac is a fun course that you should be able to navigate pretty easily and the Lakewood course is not bad either.

Anyhow, let me know and maybe we can get together for some golf! Oh yeah, right now NAD is only available weekends as the Army corps of engineers is doing work in the woods during the week.

See Ya,
Scott Papa

P.S. Thanks for the good word on our courses Lung!

Excellent! Im staying in seattle with some of my family between Feb 25-Mar.5. I would like to play a round or so out there and that would be great to have a local show me the courses. I don't especially like coldbrook out here due to the amount of luck required for a good shot on most the holes, but im sure the courses out there are great! Let me know what your schedule is like that week and maybe we could shoot a few rounds or something.

Hey Pard, you have mail! I sent you my time line and info. As far as Coldbrook, I don't disagree with you on the luck factor. With the exception of one hole we stay away from that out here pretty darn good at Dalaiwood and NAD. So let's get together and play some. Give me a shout.

Later,
Papa

Scott's a DGLO fixture.

Always travels about the farthest of anyone to get here.

Always gets sent to Hole D on the Monster to start.

Ain't no justice.

I recently played 4 courses in the Seattle area and NAD in Bremerton was my favorite. But unfortunately on hole 18, on my very last shot of the round, I threw a practice shot and lost my disc! It's a white bottom stamped Roc and it's in the shule to the left of the basket, about basket high and 50 ft to the left. I just thought I'd give you locals a heads up if you want it. It's my contribution to the course, so if you find it you can have it.

I'll post more later after I write up my notes on the courses...

I'm writing up my notes about NAD in Bremeton, but the hole lengths on the online map don't match what was on the tee signs. For that matter, the online score card doesn't exactly match the online map. Click here (http://www.ci.bremerton.wa.us/forms/parks/discgolf/NADdiscgolf_map.pdf) for the map and here (http://www.ci.bremerton.wa.us/forms/parks/discgolf/DiscGolf_scorecard.pdf) for the score card. (Click here for a link leading to both. (http://www.ci.bremerton.wa.us/display.php?id=804) )

Has the course had a redesign/tweak since those were printed? Some numbers are are the same, but in a different sequence.

Also, there were a few baskets that I was told were in the long position. Does anyone have those long Alt baskte lengths?

Where can I find the correct lengths?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Bremerton, WA- NAD Park

Course Level from the Red tees = White.
Set in a forest that gets lots of rainfall, this is all that I hoped for in a Washington course. The course is not long, but it's fun. Euphoria Factor = Very high! I can't wait to play it again!

Strengths-
To me the forest is absolutely beautiful and serene. I loved the evergreens and the lush large fern undergrowth. There were good elevation changes with lots of up and down shots.
-The course is extremely well marked so it's easy to navigate. There are signs everywhere.
-The tee signs are very good.
-The bag holders will keep your discs dry when there's rain.
-There is an online map and score card (but the course has been redesigned since it was made).

Suggestions for improvement-
-Update the online map and scorecard to match the current design.
-Add the longer Alt lengths to the tee signs.
-Use a system to show whether the baskets are in the regular or the long Alt positions.

Matters of taste-
-Some longer throwers may think the course is too short. As a shorter thrower I enjoyed being able to reach the holes from the red tees.

White level players (875-925 PR) should really like this course!

Lowe Score = 8 out of 10
