The basket's inside for the winter, and I was wondering if anyone has noticed whether putting without shoes is still effective practice? Is it worth worrying about? I have a pair of shoes that are just for disc golfing, but it'd be a pain to put them on just to go to my basement.

I have practiced puTTing without shoes on and it is definitely different, your balance is not the same. I would say if you are going to practice inside, do it with your shoes on.

Yeah always play with shoes unless you're in Hawaii. In that case, always play in sandals

you're practicing in the basement too, shane? hehe, man it be COLD outside! fwiw, i putt with shoes on when im practicing indoors too. definitely feels different w/o shoes and i'd rather simulate playing situations as much as possible. even if it does mean using a lamp as a "tree branch" near the pin (altho i may stop doing that as ive already blown one bulb to an errant putt ;))

I think I can beat you- I once broke an overhead light thing by throwing a ping pong paddle like a disc; it was fun explaining that one to the parents.

My wife thinks its funny that I read threads like this and say "yeah, i think i should start wearing shoes every time i putt in the back yard". She had further advice: Bless the shoes and sprinkle holy water on them. (it couldn't hurt)

holy water.....
Wait till she catches you praticing in the back yard with a sprinkler on....getting ready for a rain round :D

Wear shoes if possible. It may not affect your putting in the basement but it probably will when you get on the course.

I've never thought of that. I'll have to try it out in the summer.

When I first started putting in my basement I hit the lights on the ceiling. Let's just say I wasn't that good of a putter at the time.
