I truly hope all of my old and new friends in disc golf have a merry Christmas, happy holidays, or however it is that you view this season. Up here in Michigan it's mainly the "I can't wait until spring" season :( we're due to get 6+ inches of snow tonight.

I have to say that I have enjoyed each year of disc golf more than the one before. My kids' baby sitter got us started in July of 1998, so we're just past 6 years into it. I am so very lucky that my son and my wife are also avid disc golfers.

Lately, though, the most fun has been traveling places and meeting other disc golfers. Regardless of some of the rancor on DISCussion, I can still say with confidence that I have never yet met a disc golfer I didn't like! And I don't dislike any that I know of whom I haven't met, either.

I know that anywhere I go I can find a group of nice people with whom I can feel at home. In the last year I have experienced that in Northern and Southern California, Iowa(!), Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Arizona, Tennessee, Indiana, Maryland, I can't even keep track of the all the places. Holiday greetings to all my new friends from those places - if you're reading this you know who you are!

And have a great new year.

Hi, Terry.

Some of us around here appreciate you!

Man, it would have been nice if the snow had stopped at 6".

I know there was a great deal more even back when I started on the driveway at 8 this morning.

Today's round was scrubbed on the launch pad.

If you'd like to join in for tomorrow's round, let me know. Timing is not set yet (nor even if it will happen). Should be colder than today, but at least we won't have to wait for a tee time. Finding the tee, in fact, should be a challenge in itself.

Its the time of the year for BOB-sled golf. Bottom-Of-the-Board pulls the sled (and everyone's bag) for a given hole. Finally something significant to play for.

Many stops at benches are planned, so even geezers like ourselves should survive. One needs rest, afterall.

Joe, I am in eastern Ohio, northwestern West Virginia visiting relatives. Played the tiny course in my birth town, Chester, WV, Friday and met a buy from Baltimore who was visiting relatives in Weirton, WV for the holidays. "Steve Thomas," I think is his name..

The 9-holer just put in my home town of East Liverpool, Ohio at Thompson Park has turned out really nice. It's short, and Ben was prepared to diss it as a baby course, but the layout and pin placements are good and it's a pretty course, too. We played 18 holes Christmas Day and I ended up -4 (with a 60-foot putt on the last hole) to beat Ben's -3.

We're meeting the course organized and designer, Kelsey Hedrick, at 1 pm today for a round, and to look at his plans for the back nine. Anyone else in the area - we'd love you to join us at Thompson Park at 1 pm! Cya.

P.S. Hope the snow holds up until we get back to Ann Arbor, Sheila's looking forward to some x-country skiing on our course.

I think the snow should hold up pretty well, Terry. Its still frigid although there might be some warming later this week.

The pads on the Original are clean and salted (save for B,C,D) front and back, so you should be golfing in style.
