I got a red one 174g & a peepee colored one 168g. Nice plastic, almost as gummy as my 154g Sidewinder.

I went into the Local Play It Again Sports today in Vegas and picked up a few x-outs they had and the owner gave me his Christmas Sidewinder. Red 168g. Nice!
Anyone looking to sell or trade theirs?

None on Ebay.
Yet.
I've got a clear black-top, USDGC bottom-stamped, Crush (mint, unthrown) that I'd trade for a Christmas Sidewinder.

I think you should give that to your good friend, ME!
the dimensions of the santa sidewinder and the reg proto are a little different, i don't have any real measuring equipment but i'm getting about .5 mm difference in r squared, and the edge on the top half of the outer rim is more rounded
also, the bead on the inside rim is more pronounced on the regular proto, the santa bead is a lot more smooth.

Kelsey and I stopped at a football field Sunday to test throw it. What we discovered is that if you throw it downwind on a 16 degree day with 30 mph winds, LEAVE IT THERE! I almost died of exposure walking back to the car.

I got my Innova Christmas disc in the mail yesterday. After getting a phone call from a friend telling me about his xmas sidewinder and seeing this thread I was excited to check out the disc I received.
Oddly, I did not get a sidewinder, but got a red 174g MS with the same Santa stamp that everyone else has described. What is interesting to me is the kind of plastic of this disc. It is see-thru red champion plastic. I know that Millenium is owned by Innova, but I have never seen a Millenium disc molded in this plastic. As far as I was aware, there was the standard Millenium plastic and their Q plastic.
Matt Peckham, can you tell me anything more about this disc? How many of the MS are there? Is this plastic typical for Millenium's line of discs?
Thanks,
John

Flip the MS over so that it reads SW and you have your SideWinder.

Good try, Girlie, but no dice. This disc is most definitely NOT a driver. In fact, I just got ahold of a Christmas Sidewinder.
I compared my Christmas disc to other MS that I have for my club and they are the same mold.
Actually, the Christmas Sidewinder that I just got came with a nice little card saying thanks for the support and here is a "Candy" Sidewinder. The MS that I received did not have this "Thank You" card.
I am wondering if they ran out of Sidewinders and those folks lower on the list got an MS instead. My friend in charge of the Logansport DGC got a Sidewinder, the Purdue DGC got a Sidewinder, but the Tippecanoe DGC got an MS.

i posted a question about rollling with sidewinders on the other sidewinder thread-----maybe someone knowledgable when it comes to rollers could help me out-----thanx

Steven, I have shown a couple people how I get my best roller with the Sidewinder. Here's what I can figure.
It likes to roll FAST. so the faster it is when it hits the ground, and it maintains that speed, it will roll straighter. I don't throw it like a roller disc, i.e. a big over the shoulder backhand shot more designed to throw the disc so that it starts more vertical to land at a roller angle. I think this hurts the roller distance with this disc. To get that kind of action, you are losing a lot of speed. What I have found is that when I visualize that I am holding in my hand my fastest distance driver, say, an Orc or a Monster, then throw it _LIKE A DRIVER_ with a little anhyzer on the disc, NOT IN MY ARM PATH, throwing it as flat and hard as possible, it hits the ground as fast as it can. It may not look like a roller or feel like a roller when you throw it, but with a little experimentation and a little power, you can get it to land at that magical angle. The less it flies in the air, the less speed you are losing. but you want to throw it like a driver, allowing the speed to get it to stand up. When you get it right, it'll just come out superfast, turn over for a couple seconds before landing at about a 40-50 degree angle and using that speed to just chug ahead and stand up.
When it works right, you will get a straight roller that just about falls over when it comes to a stop. I need some time to practice my rollers more as I haven't had a lot of time to golf lately, but hopefully that will help it work for you. if you feel your body going through strange motions to get it to roll, you probably lost a lot of speed to get it to roll over. this disc wants to turn, so the faster you throw it, the faster it will turn. therefore allowing a flat drive-like shot to turn over enough to land and roll. It may mean taking what you know about throwing rollers out of yur mind, but get it right and you will be very happy with this disc for rollers.
If you are having trouble flipping it quickly enough with a drive shot, grab it with the power grip, pinch hard, then try to move the edge resting against the base of your thumb up your thumb. this will drive the nose down slightly, perhaps giving you a little more nose down to get it to turn faster. thrown nose up, it will be hard to turn it fast enough to roll, and it'll lose speed with nose up. Nose down or flat should be the rule.
I hope I have answered your question. Or at least given you some ideas on how to fix it. You may try asking Dave D in his thread what he thinks, he designed the disc.
The second one was actually a MS. Sorry, I don't have one to trade. :(
I'll trade for the ms as well, i'd like to at least get good pictures of all of these discs, front and back if it's one of the strange ones, i'm trying to start a museum of sorts at http://www.dgdisc.com
the santa ones are sweet, but any nice club stamp or 'collectable'(though i dont collect) type disc

matt-thanks for your input. i have had roller revelations with this disc. my problem is not getting it down and rolling, it is having the disc hit the ground at a good angle with lots of speed, [i can hit the gound early or late] rolling straight for a while, then going hard right onto its top. maybe this is normal, and i should play to the right of the basket a little

Hey John -
The disc you received was a Quantum MS. We stamped all the Sidewinders and then had two more shipments expedited to us, but we still ran out of Sidewinders and time. We chose the MS because they were particularly beautiful and because they were of the same grade of plastic as the Sidewinder. As you surmised, those folks later in alphabetized list were more likely to receive the MS.
Take care and Merry Christmas,
Harold

i meant play to the left of the basket a little. again--i have no problem getting the thing down and having it go long and straight for a while, it is the hard right turn at the end i was/am confused about--thanx again
that hard right angle is perfect for HUGE openspace distance with the right hyzer release and if yah throw it out a few degrees left of your target,
I use it in long tight fairways too, just throw it at like 70%

I'm there with you "Yak". I have had the biggest rollers of my life with this disc, and it's pretty much like Matt said, throw it like a driver. Went out on a ballfield at lunch today to throw some new 167-168 'Winders with mixed results on the roller. First three throws out of the gate on flat ground, no wind were a touch over 375', all three within ten feet of one another. Those were the last three decent roller throws unfortunately. Soooo......I started throwing long floating anhyzers with much better results. Then tried them with about 20% power off and got unbelievable, for me, distance with a witness boys and girls. Three throws all between 290 and 310 and again no wind. Matt, I'll eventually figure this roller thing out and be consistent, maybe. But regardless of rollers, I'm loving this disc.
so would anyone like to sell their Christmas Sidewinder?
i found one in greenville for 7$
My christmas sidewinder has become a great sidearm/forhand roller for this weanie arm.
