Might seem redundant with the "Whats in your bag?" thread etc. but Im wondering what disc do YOU throw into a moderate to consistent headwind for distance? Also what is your average driving range?
I throw CE Valks and am looking for something more stable to throw into a headwind. I throw about 350-380 average and the CE valks were turning on me so Im curious as to what everyone else throws into a headwind.
Champion Orc - light to moderate (375-400)
Champion Teebird - consistent headwind(350-375)
Champion Firebird or Monster - anything more than 30mph (340-350)
Usually a 168g beat up, H speed demon for lighter winds, but we had some hardcore winds last week and a heaver, newer 173g H speed demon was doing better.

Very simple, a QJLS 1.2 for moderate wind. They start straight, move about 10-15 feet right and then back left to the center to end the flight for the finish. A light weight EXP will do the same. As for a stronger wind, the same disc released with more hyzer or a heavier EXP. I am talking about a RHBH throw.
Starfires and firebirds.......monsters will do.....for mid range I would have to say the Q sentinal......it is so stable........anything that realy goes left..... if your a righty.....thats pretty much the rule..
A zpredator, every time i feel uncomfortable on a drive with wind from any direction but a tail. If it's a tail an aviar.

Driver: "E" Speed Demon
Midrange: "S" Demon
Putter: "E" Wizard (In extreme situations, its not a bad idea to putt with a midrange...like a Demon for example).
In headwinds, Speed Demons and Demons make Whippets and Firebirds look flippy.
i'm gonna have to try some gateway. I've only thrown my g1i like 10 times and it turns over hard. I think when i start incorporating the roller into DP then i'll bust it out more.

Teebird, Starfire, or Pro Line Monster.

Champion Firebird 175g (350-400)
Z-Talon 174g (325-375)
Z- Wasp 178g (300-350)
Pro Classic Roc 175g (200-300)
1st Run Pro Aviar "Big Bead" 175g (>200)
Normal golf drives 400-430ft with an Orc/Beast. I would like to get the Firebird over 400ft, but with head wind of +15mph which I find starts to affect the discs, I lean more towards accuracy then distance.

The new Starfire or a heavy Champion Orc. Wished I used the Starfire at USDGC, it's over stable with glide.

They aren't flippy but compared to a speed demon they are. :D:D
175g Firebirds are flippy when compared with 120g first run Speed Demons! It's true. They cut grooves in the ground when they land! The current Speed Demons are less overstable but still pretty nasty!
For Headwinds, I use a 177 H Speed Demon out to about 350'. If it's longer, it's gotta be a Spirit.
For Taliwinds, I've found that the Element makes a fantastic disc for it. Just throw it high and watch it fly 400'.

This is an equipment thread, not a "Lets rag on Gateway" thread. Go grab the nearest Innova disc you can find, and keep telling yourself you areawesome.

Exactly what I expected from you. Man...just lay off. This was a thread about your choice for headwind disc, not what company you dislike. I made a joke about a disc to get a rise out of Chase. It was a joke...you on the other hand take every opp. to rag on Gateway. This is about the 3rd thread I've seen you make a post about Gateways discs.
You come off grumpy for a deadhead....

No, he knew Id find it...........And theres nothing wrong with standing by your decision on which plastic to throw...even if in some cases, it may be wrong.
Whose to say what plastis is "wrong" or right to throw, its all about preference and personal taste...
I say, throw what you like, without different companies/ manufacturers to choose from their would be no competition to make something better etc.

I agree! If everyone settled on what was available we would have never gotten past throwing lids.

My favorite headwind disc is a ProLine Monster for hyzers into ANY headwind, released straight, and a CE 170 Firebird for straight shots into ANY headwind, released straight.
Orc for a slight wind and a Z Predator for anything more than that.
