I absolutely relish mine. I went on a bit of a quest to find the best premium plastic putt/approach to become my main midrange. First I had some Wizards, what plastic they were I'm not sure, but they worked fairly well. They were hard and took wear well for a Dx type plastic, but for as often as I play near trees and drive with my putter, they were taking wear pretty fast. This was an issue since I have not found any other wizards that fly the same (those who hail Gateway's consistency make me laugh). Another issue with the Wizard is that it was unnaturally straight. This sounds great, but I assure you, a disc that does not fade is just weird and only useful for wholes requiring straight vector shots. So I decided to quest for the ultimate candy putt/approach disc.

The first one I tried was a Champion Aviar, opaque blue 175g. This disc was cool, but really overstable for a putter. I could throw it hard and unless I could turn it over it flew essentially like a new roc or Z Wasp in that it went straight for the first 2/3 of the flight before getting sucked into this sweeping fade for the rest of the flight. I liked it, but concluded that I wanted something straighter, more akin to a Buzz rather than a Wasp. In my local store I had been eyeing this old school CE Qmega (you know, the classic opaque yellow, with simply "Millenium" printed on the top) for some time, and I decided to pick it up. This disc flew like a dream. Just like the Aviar, just straighter. Good glide, predictable fade, and a mean go-where-you-throw attitude stopped my quest right there. I love my Qmega, but everytime I play a round in the snow I have to remind myself that I cannot readily get another one of these discs.

So...my question is, how do the newer (Champion plastic) Qmegas fly? Are they still perfectly true flying discs? I need to get something so I don't lose my CE one in the snow. Thanks.

They vary by color and maybe something else. I also LOVE my first run(s) :D. I might even come off one for you, let me know.
Anyway, I play with a red (new), and it is understable. A guaranteed turn. I also play with a yellow (old) that could be called nothing but stable. I also have a new yellow and that is overstable, almost like a big bead. So, I'd say try a different color. But they just don't feel the same as those first run beauties.

Clear...I love the clear ones...so predictable....it run's at it every time

Those who consistently hit trees make me laugh! :D

I've been playing with a couple of new Omegas for the last week. I have a clear orange 174g that is understable, as was said before, a guranteed turn. I like it for putting and short finesse shots where I can hyzer flip it and fade straight ahead. I then have a clear yellow 174g. It flies very stable/slightly overstable, very much like my first run, except slower with more glide. I love this one as much or more than my first run, it holds all lines inside 300' extremely well and without much effort. I round the collection off with a clear red 174g Champion Aviar, an overstable monster compared to the Qmegas, I can throw it harder and farther, and it is better in the wind. It is fun playing courses with only these three discs.

Q plastic is by far the best in the market
Old CE plastic is its twin, but we all know what happen to that run

ive got a max weight q-omega for putting, a q-jls first run for turnover drives, and they are invaluable. only drawback ive found is for putting and approaching when it is below 35 deg. F., the crystal z-challenger, or DX plastic has a better grip/feel to it, creating a higher percentage of makes vs. misses.

Well I lost mine at lago vista over the holidays......it will be sorely missed....it was right out in the open and it was clear so ......i will need some more in the near future...hope I can find some in town...

The plastic used for Qmegas has varied from clear and very stiff, to clear and quite gummy/flexible. The gummy ones still have some give in the cold. I can putt with mine soaking wet and still have enough grip. Throwing it hard when wet is another story...

2001 qmegas are the only worthwhile run.(period.).

i should have mentioned i only throw first runs cause theyre the ce plastic, your right the later runs changed to softer, grippier plastic which would definitely work better in colder conditions, its just for me the flex out of the hand throws me off, dont like it, so stay away from all soft-plastic molds, and though the crystal z challenger is like a softer plastic the majority of the weight is in the rim so it doesnt flex as much as the aviar mold, thus more controllable........as for throwing in wet conditions, hard, i havent found a disc yet that works  if you find one let me know and ill put one in my bag immediately :D

Actually I have a couple of new ones that are in every way straighter than the first runs. Now they don't take as much snap or go quite as far, but they are better finesse short range discs and are better for putting. I love my first run, but the others are every bit as good in different ways. CE is over, and it is far more romanticized than it is really worth IMO. The new gummy Qmegas are the only premium plastic discs that are practical for actual putting besides the crystal Z challenger.

hell yea!!!!where do you live again..........and how dank and how much....but yea come to tyler!!!!

I am loving my new Omega APs. these are sweet, true discs. And at a year old and a few shavings from baskets it is still the same great disc. I drive and putt with it. If you like the QMega, try one of the new APs. They are one of the sleeper discs out there.
