Hi all,

Two questions:
1. I have big hands and like a big rim to grip. Excluding the Epic, what's the disc with the biggest rim out there?

2. I lost my beat in Champ Beast that I could hyzer release and it would correct and fly flat or even turn over. Is there another disc I could get that would take less than 6 months of abuse to reach a similar effect?

Thanks!

Beast, Orc, Monster have the deepest traditional rim.

The Pro Beast was just released, it may be just what the doctor ordered. A little more glide than the Champion Beast.

They recently came out with a DX Viking that might work out for you, too.

The Gateway Illusion has a pretty wide rim, too, but is more overstable than a Champion Beast and has a little shallower rim, IMO.

A Discraft Flash is another wide rimmed driver that might be good, too. It's a little less overstable than a Beast and has a nice, wide rim.

I'd go along with a light Beast, or Flash, or Valk.

You could try the new sidewinder, but that will probably be too understable for a replacement.

The sidewinder's rim is between a beast and orc in size but the disc is a little less stable than a valk. The sidewinder really glides you will keep hearing people rave about the sidewinder for good reason.
At the moment I am carrying the following drivers listed from least to most stable. (All in premimum plastic and all but one at 166 grams)

Stingray
Sidewinder
Flash
Orc
165 gram Z-Flick

Absolutely nothing wrong with the beast and valk they just don't have a place in my bag anymore.

It sounds like you are looking for something less stable than a Beast with a wide rim.

Your answer is the Z-Flash, or Z-Crush. Both of these discs have the wide rim you desire.

The Z-Flash will stand up and fly straight from a hyzer release. For windy days, a Z-Crush will do the same as well.

OR get a 150 Zflick

biggest rim I would have to say is the speed demon. thing is super crazy over stable, but you can get them beat so they will turn over.

I'd have to give a nod to the crush, flash or maybe a spirit for the last one.

Hi
Nr 1/ Gateways the Speed Demons rim is 2,2 cm, Illusion and Spirit are 2,1cm, I think they are the thickest (or deepest?)
Nr 2/ Why dont you try the Pro Beast or Pro Orcs 2nd run.

Speed Demons are pigs and take a while to break in. For a quick and oh so sweet disc....
Get and "H" Illusion, go to an open field with hard ground and do the following:
Throw 25 or so really high UDs. After that, it flips up nicely, and can be one of the longest discs out there.

1. Not a driver, but the Bulldog has the 'woofiest' rim going...

2. You can 'season' a new disc by throwing repeated overhands [Thumbers, Tomohawks] onto a hard turf. Wile away the time by pretending you're practicing. ;)
