Abita Amber
Good call Jake. Not sure if Bongos carries Abita in kegs? Will you be making it to Austin this weekend? If so I'll hold on to one of the old Eagles I have in the shop if your still looking.
Shiner Premium for Christmas?
Does Real Ale or Live Oak have a Christmas/Holiday brew out?

I'm expecting Jay to come into town later this week, and I thought I might treat him to a little Austin homecoming Saturday. Momma leaving town, so the mice are planning to play. Bring the eagle!
Sounds good Jake. Q, I think Real Ale does have a X-mas brew and Mike at Bongos usually has a good assortment of their stuff. Q-chef, maybe you could be encouraged to make up some breakfast tacos for the hungry?
AH yea that time of year again its a beautiful thing. Come one come all it should be a great one maybe there should be an afternoon round in order for all? oh and moody you gunna move the baskets back for this one way back?

Yes Chris R. the baskets are going deep. We will try out the new 18 hole layout, in addition the usual holes will go long. Like #5 and #12.
Bongos is searching for a X-mas brew. They also have a good deal on a Warsteiner Octoberfest(15 gal). Maybe we should just pretend its a X-mas brew and go for the gallons. The X-mas brews only come in the slim 5 gal, no ponies.

Last year when we had a keg of bear at the Christmas mini I hit an ace for $275, so whatever beer that was order another one.
Also for you Red Rockers, Bubbo will be up for grabs at the mini on Saturday. Beer, Bubbo, Babes walking the trail... how can you afford to miss this one!
PS - I might have to moon Laura again ace part of my ace ritual.

James always has to turn it into some sexually perverted scenario. This is just good ole American Graffiti kind of stuff James, someone your age should know what I'm talking about. :D
I feel a friendly Christmas wager could be in the making.
I forgot about your ace Chris. Those $5.00 ace pots get big with 65+ players in a mini. I think your $275 was just 75% of the whole ace pot. We usually split to 2 places, 75%/25%. Nice...maybe just as big this year.
wad up stevie b!!
when you coming to austin for some lessons??

Pease is pretty dog friendly.
my dog is about that size too :)

Dec 17 2004, 02:31 PM
Any course is dog friendly it is just a matter of having to tell somebody "dude could you get your dog away from the basket while I'm trying to putt" that annoys me or worse yet when they pick your disc up off the ground...

I take my dog to the mini all the time, she even jumps up in the trailer and helps out dave /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
and jeff, having my dog stand next to the basket is all part of my strategy, I need all the help I can get. ;)
yup,,,, this game is hard enough as it is ,,,,why do we put up with those dogs that seem to always be in the way? I love dogs,,,,I love people who bring dogs to the park cuz the dog is usually down the fairway and that gives me something to shoot for :D:D:D:D:p :p :p ;) ;) ;) ;)

Looks like an amazing day for some disc golf at Pease Park.
High of 68 degrees and very sunny!
Getting ready to head to the park in about half an hour. Get your donkey up and get out there!
Thanks to all the players for showing up for the Christmas mini. KT, Sheldon, et al., thanks for the help in the pro shop. The beer must have been good, the keg was drained in a timely fashion. Congrats to Alex H. for hitting the ace pot and tying for 1st place. Judging by the scores the greenskeeper wreaked havoc on the players. All the pins were deep in addition to have 2 new 500 foot holes to play. Let's hear some input over the next few days. I'd like to know your honest opinions about the layout. Merry Christmas to everyone and their families.

like the new layout, having the long holes is fun. so what was the low score on saturday?

Dec 20 2004, 11:41 AM
Dave, the Christmas Mini was a blast. The greens keeper gets a lump of coal from game. From me, however, two thumbs up.
Thought of Wimberley while throwing the two combo holes. I always have a tough time throwing the low canopy shot. Drives for both combo holes required a low canopied straight shot with little fade at the end (for a righty). Approaching was different between the two. The first hole, a hyzer worked best, the second combo hole, an annie was the shot but don't go to long or your in the shizal.
It was wonderful to golf the Christmas mini with my friends in Austin and be full of cheer. Thanks Dave...filled my Christmas spirt and didn't have to go shopping.
P.S. Live Oak folks weren't so bad either. Nice shoting John.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Thanks Dave for hosting us all once again. Yipeeeee on my first ace of the year. I really liked the layout. It took me ten (yes...that's 10) strokes to play the combo #1 - 2 and #8 - 9. YipeeFun! :D

No problem making the mini...I had my 4 hours sleep after getting knocked out early!
C-Ware has it right, #18 coming back across the creek. There was a moderate North wind coming left to right...tossed a QJLS full power up the middle & the wind turned it over. Slammed the sweet spot with authority!
Mike O. & I ended up -2 (I think...played doubles afterwards at Circle C with many frosty cold ones so scores are kinda fuzzy)
