I'm taking a trip from Northwest Ohio to Des Moines, Iowa. I'll be taking I-80 most of the way. Any suggestions on a few courses that are really awesome that I should stop at. Thanks.

I wouldn't call it awesome but certainly a fun intermediate length course with nice woods and elevation. West Park in Joliet, IL is right off the highway. It's been one of my favorite stops along the way during the many times I've traveled to visit family in Toledo from the Twin Cities in the past 25 years.

When you get to IOWA play Big Creek, Carrol Marty, Ewing, Walnut Ridge, Grand View, Pickard and ISU. You could stop in Indiana and play Valpo. Thats a tight course. Other then that i have no idea what courses are on the way to IOWA.

For sure play the ones in IOWA i suggested because they are AMAZING :D

Play Sugar Bottom and/or Turkey Creek in North Liberty (Iowa City). They're just a few miles off I-80 to the north.

Mokena, near Joliet, Illinois.

I thought about suggesting Mokena. It's nice but a little plain and it'll be kind of tough to find your way to the course from the parking lot until they get the new access road to #1 in there (or is it in now?).

Awesome!! Thanks for all the reccomendations guys! I'm pumped to play all these courses now. It sounds like I'll have to take my glow discs with me to fit them all in ;).
Thanks again!

I'll be visiting relatives in both Toledo and Columbus over the holidays so maybe I'll detour a little and check it out on the way.

Hi, Chuck.

If you're in Toledo, you might consider a run up US 23 to Rolling Hills near Ann Arbor. This course was our first (nine-hole) course in the area but has now been redone into a swell 18 holer. Well worth the trip - not even counting the chance to get away from the relatives for a few hours.

Any word on the Highbridge footage?

I've got Rolling Hills in my sights for a visit at some point. I've got Highbridge footage uploaded and broken into scenes on the computer. I just completed graphics. John Dorn is finalizing new logos. Next is writing and recording a script for video tours. I realized I needed a few more clips which I'll get after T-Day on my next visit.

Whenever I'm coming "around the horn" of Lake Michigan on 80/94, I stop at the Matt Lavasko Memorial DGC in Hammond and play and clean Homie's hole. It is literally "one shot :p" from the highway and I always feel better after paying my respects.
On your route, check out Sterling, IL. A sweet little course with some very interesting and well designed holes.

In northen IN you have a few courses close to I80/90. Madeline Bertrand in Niles, MI, Rum Village in South Bend, IN, George Wilson Park in Mishawaka. Those three courses are just a mile or 2 off the US 20 bypass that circles south under the South Bend / Mishawaka area.

Tafe,

Which hole was Homie's hole at Lemon Lake?
