I have heard and read about various rule book updates that are going to be taking place. Does this also mean a new rule book will be generated? If so, when could we expect to see something like this released? Could a TD or a State Coordinator (or intense promoter for that matter) receive a handful of copies? Maybe a dozen or so?

Terry, whenever there has been a revision of the rules, all current PDGA members receive a new rulebook. Hope that helps. :D

I believe the plan mentioned at the summit was that players will get a printed rules update along with their ballot and member renewal packets we should receive soon. It won't be a new rulebook, just an addendum. The full rulebook reprinting would be for 2006 after the more complete rules revamp next year.

Interesting, Chuck are you referring to the fact there are going to be more rule changes over the 2005 season? Not that it really matters right now, but Im curious as to what other changes may or may not be on the slate.

Excellent. Better than expected. I didn't think we were getting books but that will help.

I can't say anything because I turned mine in Late also. (at about 6/7 weeks after the tournament)

I was reviewing the text for the new rules book tonight. There are a few more significant rule changes in there than have been mentioned in any of the discussions out here and a few more than I was previously aware of. I'm not going to go into them because a couple of them aren't entirely clear and one clearly does not say what the authors intended. I'll say this: I was explaining some of the new rules to Diana and she got all hopping mad, "Well, if I had known they were going to do that, I would not have insisted that you come to USWDGC! I would have sent you to that meeting in Georgia!" I just said, "Oh, well. Looks like next year we all have a lot of new rules to learn."
...and one clearly does not say what the authors intended.
Can you hint if their intention was an alleged clarification, or an outright change, or...

All I can say is if you keep your drive in-bounds, in the fairway, under two meters, somewhere where you can play it from, somewhere you can find it, and you can tell all that from the tee, you won't need the new rule book right away, even if you are a pro playing in an amateur division, unless someone is challenging the legality of the 40 foot tape measure your caddy is carrying. :D

If what is currently listed as official is what was just updated by PDGA HQ...
The Official Results for the Outlaws Singles Shootout are not in, as those who didn't make the 4th round cut aren't listed. I should know, as I DFL'ed in Advanced. :o
I'd like to forget about those rounds, but I did play them so I should get "credit" for them. :)
