Seems kinda impossible, but has anyone landed Directly Right On Top with their initial drive? Maybe hitting a tree above the basket helped out?

That should count as an ace.
I think any DROT should be counted and nothing instuck in the tray should count. Atleast if its on top it had a chance to go in if its in the cage there was never any chance that it could have gone in. Seems almost impossible to get a DRIVE on top though. That would be amazing :D

My buddy skipped a FireChicken that hit the basket at such an awkward angle that it flipped up and hit the number plate. Then it teeter tottered on the top before it finally hit the gound. It was SO weird.
i've done it once, almost missed my birdie putt :o
many years ago with a Viper spike hyzer... I impaled my disc onto the number plate..and it stuck!
The viper was ruined (I still have it)It split right through the rim into the flight plate.
Got the birdie.
Hole was #7 at McLean in Virginia.
I would have preferred a plain old birdie.

When the SE T'Birds first came out, a local cut one of his max weight red ones clean in half via the Hole #16 nickel off his giant anhyzer drive...whoah!

That's hilarious! I would count that as an ace. Isn't the rule "The disc must be completely held by the basket." It sounds like your disc BECAME part of the basket! Sweet either way. I would trade 10 of my aces for that!
i think it was sunday... the guy playing right behind me hit the number pad on hole 10 at tourist park (CedarFalls Iowa) with a tomahawk... my group was going to let them play though so we got a great view of the shot. We were less than 10 ft away watching.

I wedged a metal head Viper between the number plate and top chain supports. Left a bad nick in the top of the disc, but didn't penetrate the flight plate.

Hole 12 George Wilson Park, late 90's stuck a Gazelle on the number plate, got the birdy. Put a 3" cut in the disk. I pop riveted a clip from a clipboard to it and now use it as a clip board for tourney rounds. The next round I used a Cobra and aced the same hole!
Thanks Graham..but the disc was completely held by the number plate...not the basket.

At my local club, I've talked most club members into $5 aces and $10 DROTs and leaners!

Yup.
Hole 7 in short placement at Dolese in OKC is a prime candiated for such hyjinks

May I interest you in a 2005 Pro Worlds free elevator pass? It's just $20?!! :D
Question: in the official rules, doesn't the disc have to be in not on the basket? If so, why? It's way harder to get a disc to land and stay on top! Sometime for fun my friends and I play that if you are putting from 10 feet or more and you get the disc to land on top you get a -1 on the hole.
