Ok after much confusion, it has come down to this. Please vote for your favorite name out of these.
This is for the overstable version of the Gateway Element.

I kind of figured Element-X would do well.
I was hoping for a different name to avoid confusion and to give the disc more of it's own identity.
The facts are I came up with Element-x and wanted to get players involved with our company by helping name a new disc. The last poll seemed to go over well and we will be sending the winner a box of the new disc for helping us come up with the name Titan, even though we wound up using it for the Baskets. Kid-roc claims to be the winner, but I will check the PM's, forum posts and personal emails for the correct time and date the name was given.
Does "Titan Pro-24 Disc Golf Target" sound good?

Sweet! Go find that post cuz it was all me!
Oh yeah, and I gave about 5 of those Elements away today at the Texas 10 Final. Everyone was really pleased with the disc.

I seem to remember Kid making that post too.
Oops, I didn't see this when I made my post on the other naming thread. Congrats to the winner.
My vote was for the Orbiter. But I wanted to vote for Element X first. I think I didn't 'cuz it sounded to similar to the element as noted above.
I think Odyssey is a good name for a disc, but not a slightly overstable midrange. The only other name up there that I like for a disc is the Element-X.

How about the "Cobalt Element"?

I suggested the "Catalyst" via PM, but not in time to get on the poll... it keeps with the chemistry theme of the Element, and those of us familiar with the term know that catalysts make things happen :) For those who aren't, a catalyst is something that enables a reaction. For instance, Oxygen is a common catalyst to most types of fire. That's why fanning a fire in your fireplace makes it grow faster... Without the catalyst, the fire can't really burn :) Anyone want to write-in vote for the Catalyst?

Does anyone like the name "The Money" or "G Money" for a disc?
If so, is it better than Element-X?
We ran the new disc today for the first time.
I think players are really going to like this newer version as it goes so well with the regular element in terms of stability.
We didnt get to really test it they way I wanted to, but the initial throws raised the hair on my arms.
The Element X is probably the disc I was thinking of when I first made the element. In hindsight we needed the beat roc style disc though, especially for the beginners. The element X can handle way more speed and can also be thrown lower. It was pretty successful into the wind as well.
We ran 3 versions today in the S.
The orange( regrind and unrepeatable) are really similar to a brand spanking new san Marino, Ironically they are almost the same color as the orginal orange wings and rings.
The white ( our new "S" stayed flatter and the wing concaved a little more. They are pretty fast and cut back a little if not jumped on hard enough. We also ran some denim blue but it was too dark to test fly them. They look similar to the white though.
If it's not raining in the morning I will get out for some serious testing in a field and on the course.
I want to thank everyone for participating in the polls.
Since employees of gds are not eligible to win the box of discs, we will be sending kid element, I mean kid roc, a box of discs for the Titan name he sent in.
Hey Dave, loving the element. Took the old Cobra out of my bag after one round. Really looking forward to the new disc so the Buzz can go too. However, I think calling it the "element X" is a mistake because it could be really confusing to players not as obsessed as myself or others that frequent this board. Pretty sure that's why Discraft stopped the XL, XS, X2 series of names and came up with catchier sounding stuff. Off the top of my head I kinda like the Gateway "Dart". Anything to distinguish the new disc from the element, though, would be great. Kid, if you're out there too, I'd love to get my hands on 2 high 170's S versions whenever they're ready.
Does anyone like the name "The Money" or "G Money" for a disc?
How about "the G-spot!"
I don't really like "the money" or "g money." I do think that Element X is a good name by itself, but not to sure about it with an Element already out there. If this is a disc that will do anything you want it to, you might consider "The Servant."
Good luck.
Oh, if you want someone to test the new disc in very cold weather, send a few up here to Mass. It's getting downright chilly! :)

I think the Element theme is a good one and Element-X would just be following another manufacturer. I really like the idea of Element _____ or _____ Element where the _____ is an actual element (for example Cobalt). Then if you have a couple different discs that are similar but varying stabilities you can keep a consistent theme.
Cobalt Element
Ti or Titanium Element
Chromium Element
Iron Element
Palladium Element
Silver Element
etc...

Thats really GREAT news David. Can't wait to throw them in the different plastics. Have you ran any in CE? Are they KC Roc stable like you were looking for?
I don't think the name is extremely important, but it should probably be something other than Element X IMO b/c for some people, they would just get confused.
Keep up the great work!!!

Naming a disc that will appeal to the wide demographics of the disc golfer is tricky business.
One guy has dreads and listens to Marley, The next is a construction worker who's into Slayer & Metallica, another rides bulls and occasionally gets his boots scootin and boogies. Then theres the guy with the beamer who's tappin his steering wheel to some soft Jazz and the latest is a youth pastor at the 1st baptist church listening to some christian rock.
Differently poeple from all walks of life with one thing in common, they Love disc golf.
Our job with naming a disc is to find something that will sound cool to all of the above as well as fit the description of the disc.
I like all the different ideas though, keep em coming!

Any plans to get your discs over this side of the pond? I really like the sound of the Element, and would love to try out all the Gateway range.
Heck, you could make me the first sponsored UK player, and I'll only use your stuff, if it's any good! :D

What I'd actually like to do is come to Europe with my molds. I would be willing to mold 20.000 or so disc for someone at a decent price so they could distribute with a better profit margin.
Now that we are getting closer to having a complete and full set I may pursue some of the injection molding companies I have been talking to in Europe.
Anoyone have any leads for european manufacturing?

We started running the new disc 2 days ago.
The 1st day we just put an X on the bottom but yesterday we were writing ElementX on the back.
So I guess the disc will be called ElementX.
Thanks for the names, there were a lot of good ideas out there.
2 days of test flying and the ElementX's are really working quite well. The have more resistance to turn than the regular elements and can handle a lot more speed without turning.
The 2 versions of the element are a perfect compliment to each other in terms of stability
They are not so overstable that you cant stand one up from a slight hyzer and still fade a little left at the end.
Most testing was done with the S, ranging from soft to medium and firm, 168-181
We did run about 200 Evolution ElementX's. They were a little firm and had a bit more of a dome compared to the Flat S.
The E elementX's are just about the same speed and they fall more left when thrown flat. The glide is just about the same in both. We hope to have a softer, flatter run of E soon so they faster and more overstable.
sweet! i've been throwing the snot out of my grey E and have come so so close to aceing with. as a die hard roc thrower this kinda hard for me to say, :Dbut i think these elements just might replace my arsenal of rocs.
