I usually get the emails but Roger does the actual fixing prior to each update. Send your note via the PDGA Contacts page and select the Statistics Committee to get to Roger Smith directly.
i don't think my rating reflects me as a player
how do i get it lowered to a plays like crap status ? :D
because i'm not a 940 type player ?

That's easy Preach, just play like me a few tourneys and that rating should go right down the tubes in no time. Hit the first tree off the tee, make 40' and 50' putts when available but miss everything 25' and in. That rating will be right where you want it before you know it. The best part of this style of play is when you have a tourney where you play like you know you really can and ought to, it will fry everyone elses rating for those same rounds.
Your rating will be right where you think it ought to be and you'll become instantly more popular. What could be better?

If you play with the ams those same scores will be rated significantly lower. :)
next year when i play i'll be playing adv. if they offer rating based tournys. in socal. :Dwho cares about points because they'll let anybody in world's points or no points
and i never cash anyways
hey rhett lets start are own thread "TFO VS. MINIBIGARM" :D

You don't have to wait for ratings based events (there won't be any except U.S. Mid-Nationals) since pros can play in Am divisions anytime (except Am only Majors) in 2005 if their rating is under 955.

Well lets see, there were 579 Ams and Jrs who teed off in Iowa this past summer, capacity for the same divisions in Flagstaff in 05 is 432 = we expect some folks will not get in, notably those lacking 04 points
OUCH!

Of course you run the risk of losing the repect of the Ams and yourslef when you walk onto that field :D

C'mon...I've seen your rating..You were/are good enough to earn respect :D
you know what ,i don't know where they came up with that rating (940) as a adv. am player i did all right but as a pro master i suck and in four years i've taken two last cash spots for about $90.00 wow at this point in my life i just want to have fun
i see your rating is up there as well (928) why don't you step up and play pro,i'll tell you why because you prolly won't cash and it cost alot more to play.
i wish i never listened to all the pros who told me i should step up to pros, because all they wanted was my money and playing in tournys where your always on the last card is a drag..
don't get me wrong it's just that my game never took off and now i'm lucky if i get to play three or four times a month and maybe a tourny or two a year.so i guess i would consider myself a rec player at this point :D

Plus there really is a difference in what the exact same score will be rated if it's played against ams or pros. I'm guessing 928 am and 940 pro are almost identical.
Unfortunately that means TFO is better than me since I'm only rated 920. :(
But I welcome all the disenfranchised last-card-dwellin' pros back to the am ranks. Hopefully it will get the intermediates to play where they belong and in turn move the recs down to the rec division.
you left out bottom feeder's :Dbut thanks rhett

I can I only kick so hard when you are feeling so down. ;)
Ouch :o
That's funny Rhett? I think of it exaclty the oppsite...
If the Am baggers would step up, the Open field would pay deeper, and the true Am would have a fair shake...and so on. The whole sport would gorw and move forward as opposed to?
There are "Ams" on my course that can throw 100 feet futher than I and could take my money on any given day.
Then there's the perenials. They are good enough, but they're not in it for the experience, they're in it soley to win, so they go for the lesser competion. To me that is just greedy, and sad.
Sport is about expressing the human physical ablities and exploring it's boundries. It is the beauty of all games. No body ever did much to that end by striving for mediocrity, and very few people excel if they never lose. It's part of the curve.
Would you rather see people step up? Or back?

I'd rather see people play where their rating puts them. If we can get people doing that, then we can adjuts the ratings breaks to wherever makes the most sense.
I'll let you in on a little secret: the whole ratings thing in the PDGA proved that the exact opposite condition of what you perceive exists in the PDGA ranks. There were not scads and scads of "baggers" ripping off the "true ams". What was shown was that am players, in general, play up where they don't have a chance.
If the Am baggers would step up, the Open field would pay deeper
that might be true but not all the ams that step up are gonna cash on a reg. basis if at all,so why should ams step up just for the sake of a deeper and better payout for the best player.
i for one am tried of putting money in someone else's pocket and if i where to play adv. next year i wouldn't consider myself a bagger,i would consider myself lucky to be able to play with my peers again
