We now have a kantine open on the course in IJsselstein on the 3rd Sunday of the month. This month , Nov 21st, we will be visited by the two, and only two, members of the 'Two Words' Disc Golf club in Schijndel. This is one of the oldest discgolf clubs in Holland and despite all sorts of offers they are still not accepting new members! I believe because their annual meeting is so easy to organize!
Their course was lised in the 1990 edition of the PDGA course directory. ( the address and phone numbers have changed since then.)
Of course the course in IJsselstein can be played at any time
and is even lit by small lamps for evening play. I'm not availbale on Tuesdays or Thursdays but call if you want to play on other days. 030 688 1711 from the US 31 30 688 1711
friendly greetings,
Mike

Here's an update on the IJsselstein course. Except for a recent Ace-Race event, the course is sleeping. The city moved the # 5 ,mach-5 pole-hole, to make it a challenging par 4. The Ace-Racers, Peter Buysrogge and Ren Oranje, developed a nice 9 hole course for doubles, maps are available. This is still a good place to work on your short game. The canteen is only availbale for events like the ace-race. The 3rd Sunday event moved to Rotterdam, contact PDGA #3711 ( Gabriel) for more info. The Two Words Club is still going.
We have a 'bike day of discgolf', including all three Utrecht are courses: starting early at Utrecht CS, with a good lunch after the first round in Nieuwegein, stop for coffee and then a round in IJsselstein, a game of the 'Ronkonkkoma Putting Game' on the 10 year old putting green, next to the Mosque, to win part of the green fee's back and a bike ride with the rind in your back to Utrecht and a good dinner before or after the Putting Garden in the Park Voorn and then the object course , Amaliapark, with the pole-hole imported in 1986 from Per Kronvold's Flying Disc Service in Denmark. At the end of such a day one can get a reasonable overview of contemporary Holland.

kangeroe agenda, every two years... perhaps sooner than 2010 I hope.
I hope the ace-race will return to IJsselstein, anyone also hope so?
A ronkonkkoma match is in progress recently begun and sits with a 3-3 in konk's and hope player #6400 plays IJsselstein.
Last week with the Amaliapark, then to the Rotterdam course next to the Neptunus baseball stadium and finally to the Putting Garden in the Klein Archeologie Park ( the Voorn)
for the 6 games brought us to a full day of DG !
Sure like to see one of the Sunday monthly's here in IJsselstien. Looks like the 3rd and/or the 4th Sunday(s) maybe be a regular ( I hope!) , that might be the place for a 2nd Sunday?
again Monday Mornings in the AmaliaPark in Utrecht seem to be the best and can only better if there's a sunny Tuesday afternoon !

from the last message ... was it july 9th of August 7th :) It is 2008, that's for sure...
updating, the ace-race went to Rotterdam for a 2nd time after the intiial ground-working that Peter B and Rene O did with a lot of help. Its a win-win event and I hope it goes back again to IJsselstein or perhaps in the Prinses Amaliapark in Utrecht. For the last 31 Monday's we've played with the flying disc(s) at 10:30-12:00 and with no lunch! This will change after the 15th of October, Monday Mornings will become "Monday Afternoon with Flying Disc(s)" MAWFD from 13:00-14:30. Tuesday Afternoon's still happening but with no rain! (Monday's in the rain, no problem, we have rain gear!)
DiscGolf this Saturday 4 oct 2008 in Nieuwegein, 20 minute walk, 8 minute bike ride from het Podium ... the registering will be before 9:15 ( in Tilburg I took a stroke for 8 minutes and sms are not in taking account:)
The 'putting winnaar's is coming up in November, more in the next message
