I saw this on the Gateway website, and it looks like an interesting concept. Anyone have one of these? Also, it says somthing about "semi-flexible insert" how exactly does it wrangle the discs? It is like the accordian type, or is more of the revolution type or is it somthing compeletly different?
Thanks

My girl-friend uses one, and she loves it. The inside has the pipe lining with some seperaters. She likes the comfort, but I don't like how deep the discs are in the bag.

I have one(thanks to Atreau3).
The bag is pretty nice. The discs fit nicely in the bottom of the bag using the pipes and dividers. I would say that there is about another 10 inches or so from the top of the discs to the very top of the bag. The very front compartment holds both of my putters.

Yeah it looks like they are pretty far down in there, does that mess with how they go in/out any?

There is a section on the front of the back pack that can be rolled up and held down with velcro. The discs are then only a few inches from the top of that and are very easily accessed.
The extra room at the top is great for your golf shoes when traveling. Lay a towel down on the discs and place your shoes in it. Zip it up, throw it in the car until your ready to play again.
We have made several improvements to the bag even since the last website update.
A sheet of semi rigid polyethylene reinforcement up the back and some added foam for comfort. An inside putter pouch/scorecard holder and a zippered sleeve for cell phone, money, keys or additional water.
The bags are now made from 1200 dernier cordura and come in 4 different base colors, (Navy, Burgandy, Forest and Black trimmed in grey and black) and have 1050 balistic nylon on the bottom. At $99 compared to $140 for the revolution w/ dual starp you cant go wrong!
We will be raising the price to $110.00 or so after the first of the year.
PS,
We usually throw in a prototype disc or 2 just give us your weight preference.

I can attest to the new backpacks. They are the bomb. The one that I have for sale is one of the older one's. I am hoping to get one of the new one's :D

I am not sure how they are know... I bought one in 2001 when they first came out and it fell apart in about 6 months. The straps fell apart with 3 months of use. I replaced them with quad shocks and by 6 months the stiching had come out of one of the corners where there frame met the Courdura. I replaced it with a Revoulution bag and have never looked back.
We have made several improvements to the bag even since the last website update.
How recent are those improvements? Say I were to order the Backpack bag from an online vendor. Would it most likely be the newer version or should I ask whether or not it has the new, inside pouch to see which version I'd be getting?
Thanks!

Most of the vendors would probably have the newer ones but the best way to tell would be to ask if there is a zippered sleeve next to the water bottle.

I've had mine since April, and I love it. No sign of wear whatsoever! I also like that you can easily zip/unzip it durring the rain, and the scorecard slot on the inside is cool too. Definatly worth the money, and a great value compared to a Revolution with Quads.
