I've been using an MRV for my mid-range big hyzer shots, 250'ish, but it's got a bit beat now, and often levels out or turns over.
I was thinking of getting a Z-MRV to replace it, as it won't beat so fast, but fancy something different, maybe a Z-Buzzz?

Any suggestions?

Actually a Z-Wasp or Super Roc would work better than a Z-Buzzz. They are more overstable.

I would go with the Zwasp because the super roc will get beat in just like your MRV and will start to flip flat and fly straight(or slightly to the right)

Cool, will give the Z-Wasp a go.

Also, I used to have a Stinger, until I lobbed it in the river Avon at Del Robins's course a few months back. I loved the way I could throw that disc on a nice hyzer release and it would flip up to flat then drift slowly right, with no low speed fade back. Anything that'll do that?!

yeah...get a Xbuzzz for those, or beat in a Roc

Yea, still waiting for my Roc to get beat, I don't hit enough trees with it :)

I threw my beat Roc in the Avon too, same hole, same throw as the Stinger, you'd think I'd have learnt...

I heard a good way to beat up discs is to put them in the drier with a few pairs of tennis shoes and turn the drier on the no heat setting and run it for about a half hour :D

Or go out and hit trees on PURPOSE

I once left a mini in my trouser pocket. After washing and a trip through the drier, I had a very soft 5-pointed throwing star: trousers, a sock, and three t-shirts, welded together at the centre by an unrecognisable yellow plastic lump :D

I even used it as my mini for a while, after I freed the clothes, but I don't think it's regulation...

Thats why you put the drier on the NO HEAT setting. So it will spin but not produce any HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

That way the disc just gets beat up by the shoes and the drier and doesnt melt :D

I think I'll just stick to hitting metal off the tee, that ought to beat it up good ;)

Not to sound like an Ad, but many long time Roc throwers have loved that the ELement flies like a beat in Roc.

As far as replaceing the MRV...stick with the MRV. If you are hell bent on replacing it with another disc, a Buzzz or Wasp in Z sounds right.

I don't think we have the Element over this side of the pond just yet, we tend to be a little behind disc-wise...

Oh UK huh? Yeah you might stick with the MRV just because you know it and you like it. The Z Wasp is a good disc but it's a lot more overstable than the MRV, so you may not get the results you want. The Z Buzzz is a good disc and flies straighter than the MRV. The Element is an Excelent disc!

Why don't you try a DX ROC?

Yea, I like it, but I want something a bit more overstable, the Wasp sounds like it's worth a try.

Are there any plans for a UK distributor for Gateway discs? From what I've read, the Element sounds like a disc I'd get on well with...

Was it an older "Elite MRV"? If so you may want to try the newer X MRV. Or for that matter a little more stable is an MRX. The Wasp/Roc/Buzzz is just going to feel alot different as a result of shoulder width and overall diameter just being different. In my experience most MRV lover's just don't like the Roc/Wasp-type mold. Good luck!
