Hi, folks.

Just wanted to let folks who know and love the courses at Hudson Mills Metropark in southeast Michigan about some changes.

The Ann Arbor Area Disc Indeuced Sports Club recently purchased and installed some great new trees on the course. The trees include six maples, four 9 - 12 ' pines, and four 6 - 7' pines each with two shrubs.

The planting was done last weekend by a group of dedicated volunteers assisted by two park staff and their heavy machinery.

Anyone who knows the courses is aware many large trees have died in recent years. Successive waves of death have removed both the elms and the ashes, leaving several fairways otherwise barren.

New plantings can be found on holes 1, 2, 3, 4 (3x), F, 5 (2x), 9 (2x), 15, 18 (2x). Coupled with similar plantings from last year, many of these holes will now be getting harder every year instead of easier.

Cheers to the dedicated folks who were out. I can't remember names, so I won't name names.

One lucky soul won a brand new chainstar basket - already earmarked for placement on a nearby private course to be enjoyed by anybody who knows the right people!

It's great to hear that one of my favorite courses is getting better. Just to let you know how much I like those two courses I live in Dayton Ohio and I have been a member of the metro park in Michigan for 2 years now or ever since I played Hudson Mills. Great courses and it sounds like one of them just got better.
