Brooksville now has the perfect compliment to the Gran Canyon! Like the Canyon, the aptly named Quarry Golf Course was also originally a source for limestone. After the facility closed, the city turned it into a ball golf course in the mid-'90's. But, after a decade of losing money, the city is welcoming a new attitiude and Disc Golf! The magnificent topography is only rivaled by the Canyon; it's cross-county cousin, and wanders through an amazing landscape, including consecutive shots over a 200' deep pit and culminating with the signature hole, #9 - a rolling 750' downhill shot with the pin between two quarry boulders!
By being located in the downtown area and also featuring 3 sets of tees (Rec, Am & Pro), The Quarry will act as a stepping stone and fill the gap by creating new players and an awareness of disc golf, where playing the Canyon is considered a monumental goal of most disc golfers that hear of it's lore and because of that fact, it is considered a near sacred facility in some circles.
