6 under at Cornwall park, but I'm rusty!

Sep 24 2004, 12:12 AM
Graham, it must be nice to be that good when rusty... rusty for me means I spend time looking for drives on some holes.

I shot a 68 drunk in the pouring rain at borderland last weekend. It was the worst round i've had there in over a year, but I had a blast. We were so surprised to find another group on the course that we almost fell over. I think that we got over 2 inches of rain that day. It was the left overs from Ivan. Flooding everywhere, absolute blast on the course. I don't recomend throwing when drunk, but when its that wet outside, its always more fun when you stay wet on the inside too. :D

I shot a 78 at Cass Benton, a very easy course.

When I left I just about drove my car off a cliff in rage.

Cass is NOT an easy course. Its my home course and i play there all the time. 2 down is a 1000 rated round out there from the longs. The shorts arent even that easy either. The course record out there is only 7 down from the longs.

Easy courses are Hudson Mills Original Reds where for 24 holes you have to shoot 13 or 14 down to get a thousand rated round.

I would say a 78 from the shorts it worthy of cliff jumping in your car but if you have only been playing a short time 78 from the longs isnt that bad.

PM me and we'll go out there and play sometime. I usually end up playing by myself anyway. I drive the black S10 with ILLZ on the plate.

Sep 24 2004, 01:01 PM
I've only been playing for about 6 months, but have improved immensely. Burns Park Red course (heavily wooded) my best score was 13 over. Tied that score on the Blue course which is a harder longer (more open) course. Yesterday threw a 15 over on the red playing with a friend. He left and I went on and played the Blue myself. Missed my putt on the 18th that would have broken my record with a 12. Ended up getting 1 over on 18th tieing my best score. Drives have improved majorly, but the putts are killing me on a few holes. So many 1-overs that should have been par. I working my score down slowly and my technique has improved immensely.

Sep 24 2004, 01:44 PM
59 at Hoover/Hambrick (short tees) for the 18. 55 is my personal best, twice in the past month or so -- gunning for pro par.

52 at Will Rogers yesterday. Not too bad, but man I really could have used some birdies on 3, 10 & 16. Only birdies I got were on 2 (yeah 2 ???? thats what I'm saying) and 13. After making a great drive for par on 17, I missed a 6 foot put on 18.

Saturday AM, it was a Beautiful day in Northern VT. I was at Center Chains with 3 friends. I was not playing well until hole 8 when I finally started hitting par.

Then, one of the guys I was playing with realized that he had lost his keys somewhere over the first 8 holes. The next half hour was spent looking, and when we finished looking back at hole one, my spirits for disc golf had passed.

Score for the day DNF.
Score for my buddy for putting his keys in his water bottle holder, and his water bottle in his velcro pocket ZERO!!!

I live to play again.

I shot a 60 at Borderland doing a roc-only round. My partner who is rather new to the game throws a roc pretty exlusively, while I just got one, so we figured it would be a pretty even round. We were even for 5 holes, and I took a one stroke lead on the 6th. After that, we went back and forth the rest of the way and ended up tied at 60 after 18. Saturday

Last night I just had to play till dark (about 5:45 with the time change). If I would have had night stuff, I would have played longer. The reason; There was no wind, zero! Nice clear fall evening. That is saying a lot here in Kansas. Usually there is wind, and a lot of it. I shot a -7 with one four. The wierd thing is I 3'd the easier holes (3-6) and 2'd some of the harder ones! Anyway, great evening for golf (and still had time to vote!!!!). :D

Nov 05 2004, 01:53 PM
-8 with a Bogey free round at the new course in Alabaster Alabama. Which was my first time playing it. As of right now the course is just tee flags and stakes for pins, but we will probably change a few holes to make it about 2-300ft longer.

#2 is a tough hole, only 300ft, but you shoot over a lake which starts at ~75ft and goes to 280ft. I barely got over the lake, the wind caught my disc and flipped it up and turned a major hyzer towards the edge of the lake. I landed 3ft from the edge and had a spike hyzer shot around a tree to land 3ft from the pin.

I cannot wait untill this course gets cement tee pads and pole holes.
