I know a guy who names his discs. He draws elaborate calligraphy of the name on the disc. His favorite is 'Christine.'
It never occured to me to name my discs.
I have too many of 'em!

i met a guy that names all of his after characters in greek mythology. he writes it on the underside, very ornamentally, along with his name and number.

i've never done this...i prefer to individualize them by dying them myself.

Not usually but sometimes it just happens. I used to carry 2 CE firebirds, Redbird and Bluebird. I have a black demon that I aced with the first time I threw it and cant seem to have a bad shot with, Black Magic. There's also a Lonestar Cafe roc called Baby Blue and a couple of vipers I used to carry called the Christine Viper and the Tony Viper after the people that gave them to me. But thats about it in 12 years of playing.

My 10+ year old Roc is known as "the Billy Baloo".

I had a Pole Cat I used to call the "dog bowl" because it held more water for my dog to drink. I used to use it for uphill straddle putts because the dog bowl don't roll.

HA! The Billy Baloo! Ha!

They kinda looked like it. Good thing I don't have one anymore cause I probably couldn't throw it now that I think about it!

Some of my discs have names...

I had a firebird called the Beazzy.

I have a White Wizard named Sarumon after the white wiz from Lord of the rings.

I had a tan Wizard named Radagast. He is Radagast the Brown from the Lord of the Rings series. He's not a main charachter, but it fits the disc.

I have a old CE Banshee called Tha Shizzolator. The plastic really is CE even though they were not run. Stamp is 10x but this is pure CE.

I've got a beloved and beat-up orange Raven that I affectionately call "Beer Belly Boy". Nice Sharpie sketch of a beer gut to identify it on the course. It's the best **** roller I've ever had and looks like a taco. Still rules!

Pink Champion Whippet, named Fluffy II. The original Fluffy (also a PCW) was mistakenly tossed into water and not retrieved. Named so because it is Pink (but a manly Pink :)).

Dyed CE Spider, named Air Cougar, as the dyejob is a white (undyed) cat-paw with a dyed red background.

The rest pretty much go by Stupid, Silly, or !@#$@!.

i have numbers for my discs that i have multiple ones in my bag... like my putters. i have a number 2 and a number 3. none have deserved to be number 1 yet.

i once had a firebird that i called jack as s, i named it after a guy i was dating at the time i used this disc. it was not very stable and not very reliable. didnt do a thing i wanted it to. when i threw it in the water i took it as a sign, things ended and i never threw a firebird again.

I have two original whippets that have been named.

147 whippet that I dyed to make the whippet spotted...I call that one "spot" (this disc is an excellent skip disc)

152 Whippet that was run over by an oil truck on "the beauty" at Brandywine...that one is called "The Oil Can"
as it has become a slippery trick disc.

All of my discs share the same name.....

"GET IN THE PHACKING HOLE"

Sep 27 2005, 05:47 PM
I don't really name my discs, but a friend of mine that is now diseased called my elite z xs (which was a purplish, blue) Ole Blue. He used to like to pretend he was my caddy (because he couldn't play).

I sometimes call my cream colored wizard, Gandalf, but I see that's been done.

I have a few discs that I sometimes refer to as, "Not in the lake, not in the lake not in the damned....."

Oh, and it may not be the arrow, but I challenge you to use subpar arrows and hit the same thing that someone with good ones (of your level) is using.
